The organization was opened keeping in mind the idea to promote astronomy and related sciences among the students at Lovely Professional University. UTTARA also aims in enhancing your capabilities and curb your mind in the sense of research and development, thus transforming the system of education; which is also a reflection of the motto of Lovely Professional University. The idea of the Astronomy Organization in Lovely Professional University was credited to three visionaries who thought that having Student Research Organization shall enhance the research and development in the University. They are Deepak Solanki (Ex-student ECE (Hons.)), Tushar Gupta (Ex-student CSE (Hons.)) and Rahul Kumar (Ex-faculty, LPU and member of Astronomy Club ‘Kritikka’, IIT Bombay). The idea was worked upon by a few students Abhik Dasgupta (B. Tech ECE), Shekhar Suman Singh (B.Tech CSE) and Ramesh Kumar (Ex-student CSE (LIT), LPU) and made UTTARA a reality. Finally, this student Organization was accepted in the family of Student Organization Cell and it has been functioning since 12 January, 2012. UTTARA is a name taken from a famous star of the Leo constellation ‘Denebola’ or Uttara Bhadrapada’ which acts as the tail of the LEO constellation. The Tag Line for UTTARA is ‘SCIENTIA DIVINA’ which means ‘Knowledge is Divine’ in Latin.

Uttara- Scientia Divina - Astronomy Club, LPU- Scientia Divina - Astronomy Uttara- Scientia Divina - Astronomy Club, LPUUttara- Scientia Divina - Astronomy Club, LPU LPU organized an interactive session for amateur astronomers to discuss a lot about Chandrayan 2 and James Webb Telescope. We also discussed what possibly could have gone wrong with the "Vikram Lander". Nevertheless, ISRO's communication is lost with the lander, not our hopes.
It was a small session yet everyone lost themselves in it.

Student Research and Project Cell (SRPC)'s team VISIONAUTS is going to conduct a two days workshop entitled TOKA ERE 2.O. The workshop is based on advance aeronautics and space technology. Students will come to know about the aeronautics and the latest technology being used by the space agencies for space missions.
