ribed in the heart of his Prophet Muhammad (S). In it Allah has adopted the technique of attracting human mind to the novelties of divine knowledge. It is only when this knowledge is imbibed by human mind that it creates transition in human lives. That is why the Prophet said that teaching the Quran is the noblest activity upon the earth. Al-Furquan islamic university was started by a group of religious activists, inspired by the words of the prophet. The centre is a step towards fulfilling their dream of contributing their share to the propagation of the ideals of the Quran, although the task was daunting but noble. The Centre, organised by Salvation Charitable Society, is situated at Perumbavoor which is blessed by the iciness of Periyar and consoled by the greenery around. The centre is working as per a blueprint, which is here discussed in a few words.

The Quran we read today has been conserved in its present form by the branch of knowledge named Thafseerul quran. Should the whole Quran texts existing today be burned, the text will emerge again from the reservoir of hafizs who have learnt it by heart. This is the relevance of this branch of knowledge.

And chant the Quran in a plain chant So says the Quran instructing us to do justice to dulcet tunes of the Quran while reading or chanting it. Quran is much more than a text; it is a multiple text. Mellifluous chanting of the text is integral part of the Quranic science. Thajveedul Quran deals with this specific aspect of the science.

While students learn the Quran by heart, it will help them much if they are introduced to the meaning of each word of the holy text, a brief description of each chapter, and the context in which it was sent. In this way, the learner will be able to acquire a design of what he learns.

Ilmuthafseer or the science of Quran exegesis is the milestone in Islamic history. It’s this branch of Quran science which gave birth to the great scholars like Ibn Katheer, Imam Razi, Imam Baidhavi, Thabari. The works of these classic scholars are studied by learners one by one. Next, they will study interpretations and exegesis in other languages as well as other major works on Quran. The students will be given academic education up to post-graduate level as well as training in languages like English, Urdu and Arabic and technology so that they will be made capable of undertaking the task which they were assigned......
Quran into the public space
Al Furqan aims at taking the message and knowledge of the Quran to general public who, due to the busy lives they are leading, are unable to learn the holy verses. There is no further opinion on the fact that the ideas of the Quran will become an antidote to people. Al Furqan into other districts
This milestone that Al Furqan aims at is being extended to other districts through its branches. We hope by this to rein in un-Islamic practices that have all but become a norm among Muslims the world over. A Quranic resistance against the brickbats
Quran is being criticised. Undoubtedly, the holy message of the divine text can destabilise those who stand by those values of greed and revenge and can’t but hurl brickbats against the divine message. They do their best to misrepresent the holy text by all available means including the information technology. An example of this trend can be seen in the website quransamvadam.blogspot.com. The problem with these misrepresentations is that they can distract the innocent common people. The real message of Quran has not yet been unveiled to them. In this context the words of French scientist Dr Madrid is relevant: ‘Those who have learnt the Quran can never be an opponent of the text, nor of Islam.’ The jihad we should all wage is to bring the message of the Quran to the common man.
