๐Ÿงฉ Autism vs ADHD โ€“ Understanding the Difference

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are both neurodevelopmental conditions, but they affect children in different ways. While some signs may overlap, understanding the differences can help parents seek the right support at the right time.

Every child is unique. A proper developmental assessment is essential to understand your child's strengths and challengesโ€”because the right intervention starts with the right understanding.

๐Ÿ’™ Remember:
โœ”๏ธ Autism and ADHD are different conditions.
โœ”๏ธ A child can have both Autism and ADHD.
โœ”๏ธ Early identification and intervention can make a significant difference in a child's development.

If you have concerns about your child's speech, behaviour, attention, social interaction, or learning, don't wait. Early support can help your child reach their full potential.

STAGES OF SOCIAL PLAY
How Children Learn to Connect Through Play ๐Ÿงฉ๐Ÿ‘ซ

Play is much more than just fun! ๐ŸŒˆ It is an essential part of a child's social, emotional, language, and cognitive development. As children grow, the way they interact and play with others gradually changes.
Understanding the stages of social play can help parents and educators recognise how a child's social interaction skills are developing. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ”ธ Solitary Play ๐Ÿงธ

The child plays independently and focuses on their own toys or activities. This stage helps children develop independence, concentration, exploration, and creativity.

๐Ÿ”ธ Parallel Play ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš™

Children play next to each other, often with similar toys, but may not directly interact or share a common play goal. They begin to observe and learn from their peers.

๐Ÿ”ธ Associative Play ๐Ÿงฉ๐Ÿ‘ซ

Children start interacting, talking, sharing toys, and showing interest in what others are doing. However, their play may not yet be fully organised around one shared goal. This stage supports communication, sharing, and early social interaction skills.

๐Ÿ”ธ Cooperative Play โšฝ๐Ÿค

Children actively play together with a shared idea, goal, or activity. They learn to take turns, follow simple rules, solve problems, communicate, and work as a team.

โœจ Every child develops at their own pace. Social play skills gradually emerge through opportunities, positive interactions, and supportive play experiences.

At UneeQS Child Development Center, we encourage meaningful peer interaction and play-based learning to support children's communication, social skills, behaviour, and overall development. ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Observe how your child plays โ€” play can tell us a lot about their developing social and communication skills.
