🎄🎉 Jingle Run, Christmas Celebration & Sports Day – Rahma Special School 🎉🎄

The Jingle Run, Christmas Celebration and Sports Day of Rahma Special School, Melattur was successfully held at Soccer 6 Turf, Ucharakkadavu, organized by the 14th Batch Pharm D students of Al Shifa College of Pharmacy as part of their community outreach initiative. The programme aimed to spread joy, promote inclusiveness, and encourage physical activity among special children.

The event began with a welcome address by Prof. Junise V, followed by the presidential address by Dr. Linu Mohan P, who highlighted the values of compassion, service, and teamwork in professional life. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Rasheed, Vice Principal (Academics), encouraging students to actively engage in community-based initiatives.

Felicitation addresses by Mr. Mohammed, Turf Owner and Social Worker, and Mrs. Anitha, Teacher, Rahma Special School, added warmth to the occasion, appreciating the students’ efforts in creating a memorable celebration.

The Jingle Run, sports activities, and Christmas celebrations were conducted in a lively and festive atmosphere, bringing smiles, enthusiasm, and happiness to all participants.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Nikhila T, Associate Professor, acknowledging the support of all dignitaries, volunteers, and participants.

We proudly congratulate Prof. Dr. Danisha P. on the successful completion of her PhD from the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), marking a significant academic milestone as the third PhD awardee from KUHS.

The PhD public defence was held at Pariksha Bhavan in the presence of eminent academicians, research scholars, doctoral committee members, Dean Dr. Rajashree, and external experts Dr. Shalini Sivadasan and Dr. Manjula.

Al Shifa College of Pharmacy celebrated the 64th National Pharmacy Week (19–21 November 2025) with a vibrant lineup of academic, community-oriented, and student-driven events. The three-day celebration showcased professional responsibility, creativity, scientific awareness, and public engagement.

📌 Vaccination Awareness Rally – Melattur
Students organized a rally, flash mob, and skit to promote immunization and engaged with the palliative care community.

📌 Prescription Adalath – FHC Kizhattur
Pharm.D interns guided the public on prescription handling, rational medicine use, and safe practices.

📌 Poster Competition – “Pharmacists as Advocates of Vaccination”

We are delighted to announce that Ms. Febi John, Pharm.D Intern of Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, has been awarded a Scholarship to attend and present her research poster at the 11th International Conference on Clinical Pharmacy (CPCON-2026), hosted by the Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MAHE.

Her research work titled:
“Salivary Ni****ne Biomarkers Validate NRT Efficacy: First Indian Hospital-Based Evidence Using Objective Fluorimetric Assessment”
was selected for this prestigious recognition and was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Danisha P.

Participation at NCC 2025 – “Shaping the Future of Cancer Care”

Dr. Jibin Joy and Mr. Suhail P. T. represented Al Shifa College of Pharmacy at the 16th edition of NCC 2025, held from 25–27 November 2025 at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam, Bangkok, Thailand.

They presented a scientific poster during the International Cancer Registry Forum 2025, a key session under NCC 2025 dedicated to global cancer data standards and collaborative international registries.

The conference highlighted transformative themes including:

Advances in the genomic and precision era of oncology

Integration of AI in cancer care

Global trends in cancer epidemiology and registries

Their poster presentation led to engaging discussions with international delegates and contributed valuable perspectives toward strengthening and optimizing cancer registry workflows.

Al Shifa College of Pharmacy organized *BIBLIOTHECA 2025 – Mega Book Expo* on November 26th and 27th, 2025, in collaboration with Mathrubhumi Books. The event was inaugurated by writer Mr. Gifu Melattur, with a welcome address by Dr. Linu Mohan P., Library Committee Convenor and HOD of Pharmacy Practice. Felicitations were given by Prof. (Dr.) Dilip C. (Principal), Mr. Mohammed Faisal (Manager), Mr. Nahas Abdul Rassaque, and Mr. Adhil Abdul Rassaque. Mr. Ramneesh, Customer Relationship Executive from Mathrubhumi Books, also participated in the event.

During the program, the Best Library User Awards for 2025 were presented to Asnu Fathima (2nd Year Pharm D) and Mrs. Anju (Assistant Professor, Pharmacology). A Book Donation Drive was officially launched to encourage contributions from students and faculty. The expo attracted over 500 students from Al Shifa Group of Institutions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Bency Baby.

Students from the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Al Shifa College of Pharmacy proudly participated in ACPE 2025 – ISPE’s 17th Asian Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology, held from 21–23 November 2025 at the Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong.

The conference brought together over 500 delegates from across Asia, including more than 60 participants from India, providing an exceptional platform for knowledge exchange, evidence-based discussions, and global collaboration in pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacovigilance, and patient safety.

As part of the scientific programme, Pharm.D interns of the department presented four scientific posters, highlighting the institution’s growing contributions to research in materiovigilance, clinical practice, and patient-centered care.

Al Shifa College of Pharmacy organized the Graduation Ceremony for the year 2025 at Shifa Convention Centre Perinthalmanna with great fervor. While Dr P Unneen, Managing Trustee of Shifa Medicare Trust presided over the function, Dr VV Unnikrishnan, Director, Academic Staff College, Kerala University of Health Sciences graced the occasion as the chief guest. Over 120 students received their degrees, marking the graduation of BPharm, MPharm, and PharmD students.
The event commenced with a welcome address and the presentation of the annual college report by Prof. (Dr.) Dilip C., followed by the presidential address from Dr. P Unneen, the Managing Trustee of Shifa Medicare Trust. Certificates for the graduates were presented by the Chief Guest. The chief guest stressed on the important of the profession of pharmacy in his address to the graduates. He spoke about essential qualities of pharmacy graduates, summarizing them into 10 Cs. He also emphasized about the emerging role of artificial intelligence in healthcare profession, and need for pharmacy graduates to upskill themselves.
Teaching and non-teaching staff who devoted over a decade to the institution were honoured during the ceremony. Dr Arun Rasheed received honours for publishing a patent, while Mr Suhail PT was bestowed the “Young Researcher of the year” award. Prof Junise V was honoured for receiving the state level NSS award for the best NSS Coordinator. Students who published scientific works in Scopus indexed journals were also honoured.
