Our First Semester B.Pharm and First Year Pharm.D students showcased 15+ innovative models at a 9-hour science exhibition, sparking creativity, teamwork, and research spirit. The event, led by Principal Dr. Dilip C, celebrated scientific curiosity and innovation in pharmacy.

We hosted an inspiring session on Technology Readiness, IP Commercialization & Tech Transfer, led by Dr. Harish Gopinath from Bio Plus Life Science. 40 M. Pharm students participated in a 5-hour offline mentoring programme, diving deep into TRL, MRL, IRL, IP protection, and technology transfer.

🚀💡 IIC Participation – Malappuram Cluster Level Hackathon 2026 💡🚀
📅 18 February 2026 | ⏱ 18-Hour Hackathon

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, proudly reports Level 4 participation in the IEDC Startup Summit 2026 – Precursor Event: Malappuram Cluster Level Hackathon, held at Khidmath Arts & Science College, Thirunavaya.

Organized under the Kerala Startup Mission, the 18-hour hackathon promoted innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and startup culture. The event was inaugurated by V. R. Vinod, District Collector of Malappuram, who encouraged students to transform ideas into impactful ventures.

A total of 12 students represented the institution, actively engaging in idea development, mentorship sessions, and pitch presentations.

🏆 Proud Moment: Muhsina and team secured Third Prize in the Idea Pitching Competition, appreciated for their clarity, feasibility, and practical relevance.

✨ The hackathon significantly enhanced students’ entrepreneurial exposure, pitching confidence, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving skills — strongly aligning with IIC’s mission of fostering innovation and startup readiness.

📊🚀 Seminar on Technology Readiness Level (TRL) & Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL)

The Student Support and Guidance Programme (SSGP), Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, organized an insightful seminar on “Technology Readiness Level (TRL) & Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL)” to help students understand the journey from research to commercialization and large-scale manufacturing.

The session was presided over by Dr. Dilip C, Principal, who highlighted the importance of TRL and MRL frameworks in innovation, research funding, and industry-oriented careers.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kamaludheen K. T, Principal, Al Shifa College of Arts and Science, who explained the stages of Technology Readiness Levels—from basic research to real-world application—and the role of Manufacturing Readiness Levels in assessing production scalability.

The Institution’s Innovation Council 8.0 conducted an expert session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to enhance awareness on protecting academic and research innovations.
The keynote session was delivered by Dr. Law Well Man P, Associate Professor, Government Law College, Kozhikode, who provided valuable insights into patents, copyrights, trademarks, design rights, prior art search, and patent filing procedures. The session was interactive and highly informative, encouraging researchers to transform ideas into protected intellectual assets.

✨ The session significantly strengthened awareness and interest in IPR, fostering a stronger culture of research and innovation within the institution.

📝📚 Workshop on Research Paper Writing & Journal Publication Support

A half-day workshop was organized for Third Semester B.Pharm students, led by Prof. Dr. Dilip C, with the objective of strengthening scientific writing and publication skills.

The session covered research methodology, ethical writing practices, structure of a research paper, journal selection, impact factors, and avoiding predatory journals. Students also engaged in an interactive discussion on plagiarism, citation tools, manuscript formatting, and the peer-review process.

The workshop concluded with guidance on initiating undergraduate research projects and building a strong publication profile.

🚀✨ Idea Booster Program – “Startup Track & Innovation Corridor” ✨🚀

The R&D Cell and IDEA Café under the Institution’s Innovation Cell (IIC), Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, organized an Idea Booster Program titled “Startup Track & Innovation Corridor.” The programme aimed to inspire students to explore innovation pathways and actively engage in the startup ecosystem.

The technical session was handled by Mr. Rony K. Roy, Senior Technology Fellow, Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), who delivered an inspiring talk on the theme “Journey to 2029: Lead or Follow.” He motivated students to emerge as leaders in the startup ecosystem and shared real-life entrepreneurial success stories.

He elaborated on the support offered by KSUM, including:
• Funding assistance
• Incubation support
• Mentorship opportunities
• Networking platforms such as IDEA Fest
• Access to nearly 160 mentors

The speaker emphasized the importance of innovation, perseverance, structured guidance, capital, and resilience in building successful ventures. The event proved to be highly informative and motivating, significantly enhancing students’ awareness of startup opportunities and innovation-driven career pathways.

The Institution's Innovation Council, Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, organized the Institution Innovation day - 2023 on 19/10/2023 to mark the birth anniversary of our former president, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. A quiz programme named *"QUIZZY POP"* was arranged as a part of this celebration. Students from different batches has participated. Those teams answering the 4 / 5 questions were given prizes. The programme was coordinated by students from 7 th semester B.Pharm ( Vinaya Antony, Muhammed Shameer, Muhammed Jasim). It was an exciting test of Knowledge and team work.
