ISD Senior Secondary English School is established in the year 1990 under the leadership of some educated people of Muslim community, who formed a society for the purpose and named it as Islamic Society for Development. The aim of the society is to promote education, social, cultural and economic advancement of the backward classes and minority community in general and Muslims in particular by gra
nting scholarships and other forms of aid. ISD Senior Secondary English School promotes moral and academic excellence in a caring and lively environment, providing opportunities for realization of the potential of children to the full. The school offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum while maintaining a strong ethos that integrates value education. The learning experiences provided by the school are carried out in an atmosphere of love and respect for everyone in the society. It also fosters a learning environment which reinforces the concepts of self-discipline, human values and the acceptance of personal responsibility. In its convivial atmosphere, important life-long attitudes toward school,learning and life itself are established. This school is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and has classes ranging from I to XII with strength of 1050 students. It is situated at Uliyathkadavu, Payyanur in the midst of beautiful scenery with healthy vigorous environment, away from the din, dust and pollution. The school which started functioning in the year 1990 has now 44 trained and qualified teachers and 14 non-teaching staff. There are 40 class rooms with good ventilation apart from vast and wide rooms for office, staff room and library. We have well established laboratory in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. So far we have presented 15 batches for the board exam and our pass percentage was hundred with lot of Distinctions and First Classes. In the field of extra-curricular activities also our students have an established supremacy among the neighboring schools. Several trophies and shields were brought to our institution during the years for sports and arts. As a part of inculcating ethical and moral values a mosque has been constructed and consecrated in the campus.
