CHILDREN EXPOSED TO VIOLENT MEDIA

Studies of exposed to media have shown that they may become numb to violence, imitate the violence, and show more aggressive . Younger children and those with emotional, behavioral or learning problems may be more influenced by violent images.

In moderation, playing age-appropriate can be enjoyable and . Some video games may promote learning, problem solving and help with the development of fine motor skills and coordination. However, there are concerns about the effect of video games on young people who play videogames excessively.

Children and can become overly involved with videogames. They may have difficulty controlling the amount of time they play. They may resist their parents’ attempts to limit their time playing video games. Spending excessive time playing these games can lead to:

Less time socializing with friends and family

Poor social skillsTime away from family time, school work, and other hobbies

Lower gradesLess reading

Less exercise and becoming overweight

Decreased sleep and poor quality sleep

Aggressive thoughts and behaviors

A research by Australian scholars of Victoria Study, published online on “Pediatrics”, tells us that preschool children’s linguistic assets can influence their learning skills more than environmental, pediatric and family factors. 7-year-old children with limited linguistic skills can be explained with a series of social-educational, behavioural, literacy problems along with some poor life conditions and physical wellness. It’s fundamental, therefore, for education institutions to acknowledge the importance of language skills and their consequences on the overall child life. They should also operate on children’s linguistic progress starting from preschool (about 4-year-olds) and be well-equipped to provide all the necessary incentives for the language development in children.
