On December 17, 1927, revolutionaries Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru assassinated British officer John Saunders in Lahore, avenging the police brutality that led to Lala Lajpat Rai’s death. Their act of resistance became a defining moment in India’s freedom struggle. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar were later executed, but their sacrifice continues to be remembered as a powerful tribute to courage, conviction, and the fight against colonial injustice.
