Janmashtami Celebration at GD Goenka Public School, Pre Primary Wing, Patliputra on 11.8.202✨
Our Pre-Primary children joyfully celebrated Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna, with colour, laughter, and devotion. The little ones came dressed as Krishna and Radha, filling the school with a festive charm.

Listening & Speaking – During Circle Time our cute little Krishnas and Radhas enjoyed a lively storytelling session about Krishna’s childhood, his love for butter, playful mischief, and his bond with friends. The children also participated in a role play, enacting scenes from Krishna’s life, which made the story come alive. They spoke a few lines about Krishna with enthusiasm and confidence.

Sensory Learning – To enhance sensory learning, little hands explored butter, curd, an earthen pot, peacock feathers, a flute, a crown, a swing, and a cow and her calf, connecting each object to Krishna’s life in a fun, hands-on way and which happy, excited faces could relate to.

Reading & Writing – Children engaged in Janmashtami-themed worksheets with colouring, sticking sequins, pieces of coloured paper, bindis, and tracing activities, reinforcing their learning through creative written work.

The celebration was a beautiful blend of learning and festivity – giving children not just the joy of dressing up, but also the values of love, friendship, and devotion that Krishna’s life teaches us.

The Pre-Primary wing of G.D. Goenka Public School, Patna celebrated Raksha Bandhan with immense joy and enthusiasm on August 8, 2025. Our students participated in various activities. In the Rakhi Tying ceremony, students tied rakhis to members of the school staff that included the housekeeping staffs and drivers. This gesture symbolized the protection and care that extends beyond familial bonds, embracing the entire school community. Students also celebrated "Green Raksha" in a unique way by tying colourful rakhis to the trees in the school garden. Teachers explained that trees give us clean air, shade, and fruits, and we must love and protect them just like we do our family. The little ones happily tied handmade rakhis to the branches, promising to take care of nature. This activity helped them learn about friendship with trees and the importance of protecting our environment. This thoughtful gesture underscored the importance of protecting our ecosystem and promoting sustainability, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to climate action and responsible consumption. Students also engaged in creative activities such as making their own rakhis using a variety of decorative materials. This hands-on experience not only enhanced their fine motor skills but also allowed them to express their creativity and individuality. The Grade 1 students further developed their language skills by writing and speaking about Raksha Bandhan.This exercise in communication helped improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing (LSRW) skills, essential for their overall linguistic development. As the event drew to a close, the students shared sweets with their friends and enjoyed the feast.
✨Objective:
The celebration was a delightful experience for our young learners as it helped to understand the values of love, protection, and togetherness.

🚦 Road Safety – Learning About Signals and Rules 🚦

Our little learners at G.D. Goenka, PPW, Patliputra explored the importance of road safety through an engaging, hands-on activity. Children learned to recognize the three main traffic light signals:
Red – Stop
Yellow – Get Ready
Green – Go

They also discussed simple road rules, such as:

1. Always walk on the footpath
2. Look both ways before crossing the road
3. Use the zebra crossing
4. Follow traffic lights and signs

This activity connected to SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, helping children understand that safe and responsible road behaviour makes our cities safer and more livable for everyone.

To understand the concept of Sustainable Cities and Communities children enjoyed a Road Puzzle game, by arranging road pieces, traffic lights, and signboards, they built their own mini city roads. This activity helped them understand how to make a safe and sustainable city.

Value Addition -

Sensory Learning - Construction Site

A construction site was set-up where children learned - about different construction vehicles, they touched, felt and worked with materials like wood chips, blocks, pebbles, stones, scooping sand etc. This hands-on experience helped the children learn about a construction site as well.

Through play and discussion, our young learners are becoming aware, responsible, and ready to contribute to a safe and sustainable community.

Our school celebrated Friendship Day with great joy! Students enjoyed activities like
- Friendship Band: Exchanging colourful friendship bands.
- Videos & Songs: Watching heartwarming videos and singing friendship songs.
- Dance: Grooving to fun tunes with friends.
- Speaking Session: Sharing thoughts about friends, like "You're my best friend" , "I love playing with you"and " you are my friend because...".
Through these activities, students learned the values of friendship. They had a blast bonding with classmates and creating memories together. Happy Friendship Day!

The Parent-Teacher Meeting conducted on 31st July, 2025 at Patliputra wing was a heartwarming success! It brought parents and teachers together to celebrate the tiny tots' milestones, discuss their progress, and nurture their growth. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for parents to gain insights into their child's academic journey, social skills, and behavioral development. With positive feedback and enthusiastic participation, we strengthened our parent-teacher partnership, paving the way for a collaborative and supportive learning environment. It was a joy to see parents and teachers working together to unlock each child's full potential!

"Roaring Fun for a Cause! 🐯🎨 Our kindergarteners celebrated International Tiger Day with an exciting event, learning about the importance of saving tigers and their role in a healthy ecosystem. The highlight was coloring and wearing tiger face masks, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed! 🎉 The event blended fun and learning, instilling an early appreciation for these magnificent creatures and their protection. 🌟

🌧 “Calcium Day Celebration – Strong Bones, Happy Kids 🌧

Nursery to Grade 1 –
On 25th July, 2025 our bright-eyed happy learners at G. D. Goenka, Pre-Primary Wing, Patliputra celebrated Calcium Day with a fun-filled and educational experience focusing on the importance of calcium for strong bones and teeth!
The aim of the activity was to introduce young learners, in an interactive way, using simple, reel-life demonstrations and hands-on learning to develop a love for eating healthy calcium rich foods.

🌦 Circle Time – Common Activities:

Clad in white attire, the children were ready to learn about Calcium, benefits of calcium rich foods and their importance.

Language Development – The celebration integrated LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) through stories, rhymes (“Amul Doodh Hai Wonderful”, “Dem Bones The Skeleton Song”, “The Benefits of Drinking Milk Polly Olly”, to name a few), speaking about calcium and calcium rich foods, drawing favourite calcium foods, and hands-on activities.

Nursery and KG1: Children were amused with the colourful pictures, fun stories about calcium benefits, picture reading and reciting rhymes. They named a few Calcium Rich Foods like Milk, Cheese, Yogurt, Bones and enjoyed the rhythm of musical rhymes. Milk, cheese, curd were our little ones' calcium favourites. This activity enhanced their vocabulary, memory and made them aware of the importance of Calcium.

KG2 and Grade 1 - our little older children expressed themselves confidently by speaking, reading and writing short sentences about calcium, calcium rich foods and the importance of calcium in their everyday lives. They used vocabulary like Milk 🥛, Cheese 🧀, Yogurt 🍦, Broccoli 🥦, Almonds 🌰, Tofu 🍽, spinach 🥬etc. enhancing their communication skills. Their efforts were recorded to boost their self-confidence, self-belief, the ability to express themselves.

💨 Experiential Learning: STEM Activity - Colourful Milk Fireworks
To spark curiosity, and make learning more captivating a colourful STEM experiment – the Milk Explosion was conducted. Children watched in awe as ear buds dipped in dish soap, added to milk with food colours, learning how soap breaks down fat molecules in milk — a sensory-rich and visually exciting activity that reinforced milk as a calcium source! The children’s eyes lit up seeing the explosion of colours while doing the experiment themselves under the guidance of the teachers.

Show-and-Tell:
A special sensory table was set up with Calcium Rich Foods. Children participated in a lively show-and-tell activity, describing foods displayed, speaking about calcium, it's importance, sources of calcium. They spoke about their favourite calcium rich foods, boosting confidence and language skills. The day ended with these special moments being captured through interactive and engaging videos
