The university was established in March,1987. the university is an autonomous body under the Nalanda Open University and is named after the famous Nalanda University of Ancient India. it is the 4th oldest University of the country. The University is recognized by Distance Education Council, UGC and Ministry of H.R.D govt. of India, for imparting education through open and distance mode of learning.
