# **IGNOU PhD 2021 Notification Released**

**Heads-Up:**

* IGNOU provides a decent option for pursuing PhD with relative ease. This is best suited for mid-career professionals or government employees looking to enhance qualifications or making a switch to higher education on experience basis.

* PhD from IGNOU is REGULAR MODE only. By the way, there is no such thing as PhD in 'distance mode'. PhD in India is always regular mode.

* PhD from IGNOU is non-residential. That means, if you are devoting full-time to PhD, you won't be provided any accommodation inside IGNOU Campus at Maidan Garhi, Delhi. You will have to make your own arrangements in Delhi-NCR for the duration of PhD.

* All fellowships and scholarships are admissible in IGNOU. This means, if you've qualified for NET-JRF/GATE/ICAR/ICMR-JRF etc. you will be provided full fellowship as per rules.

* IGNOU also has two of its own fellowships but those don't even compare to NET/GATE/ICMR/CSIR fellowships. IGNOU's fellowship is merely 8k per month while quality JRF fellowships are north of 30k per month. If you are doing it full-time, it's best to do JRF and then join PhD here.
