St. Xavier's College of Management & Technology (SXCMT), Patna, proudly celebrated the graduation ceremony of the 2022–2025 batch, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of its students. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ and Assistant Professor Dr. Anurag Ambasta, who shared their invaluable insights and blessings with the graduating cohort.
The ceremony commenced with heartfelt addresses from Fr. Dr. Poras and Dr. Ambasta, reflecting on the students' growth and the transformative journey they undertook during their time at SXCMT. Their words resonated deeply, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, integrity, and continuous learning in the professional world.
Adding a touch of warmth and celebration, the first and second-year students showcased their talents through a melodious song wishing the graduates success and a vibrant dance performance that enlivened the atmosphere. On 29th April 2025, Kalam Hall at Xavier University came alive with energy and enthusiasm as students participated in the Memory Workshop organized under the Mera Yuva Bharat initiative.

The session was led by the renowned memory trainer Mr. Anant Kashibatla, who empowered students with practical memory enhancement techniques and shared powerful insights into improving focus and retention.

The event began at 9:00 AM with the University Anthem, followed by the felicitation of the guest and a warm welcome by Fr. Martin Poras, SJ.
The workshop and interactive Q&A session enriched everyone present with tools to boost academic and personal growth.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks and distribution of certificates and refreshments.

St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna, proudly commemorated the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on 12th April 2025 in Kalam Hall with great reverence and enthusiasm.
The event began at 10:50 AM, setting the tone with a thoughtful Introduction to the Day, followed by the College Anthem that resonated with Xavier spirit. Our distinguished Resource Person was warmly felicitated, and a graceful Floral Tribute was offered to Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The audience was deeply moved by a powerful video presentation capturing Dr. Ambedkar’s remarkable life and legacy, followed by a thought-provoking skit performed by students that highlighted social equality and justice.
The highlight of the day was the inspirational speech delivered by the Resource Person, offering valuable insights into Ambedkar’s vision and relevance in today’s times. A soulful poem recitation added an emotional depth to the tribute.
The program concluded with a sincere Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem, uniting everyone in a spirit of pride and respect.

In a historic moment for the state of Bihar, Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the much-awaited Xavier University in Patna. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including the Education Minister of Bihar, Shri Sunil Kumar and the Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department, Dr S. Siddhartha.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the development of higher education in the state, aiming to provide world-class educational opportunities to students and contributing to the intellectual and socio-economic growth of the region.
The event was followed by the Annual Day Celebrations of St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology with an inspiring and vibrant cultural programs. The Chief Minister, accompanied by Education Minister Shri Sunil Kumar and the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Dr S. Siddhartha, graced the inauguration ceremony of Xavier University before joining the Annual Day celebrations at Kalaam Hall.
The celebrations brought together the college's management, faculty, students, parents, invited guests, and dignitaries for an evening of cultural performances and academic reflections. The event began with the college anthem, which was followed by an energetic and graceful prayer dance performed by the students of the Xavier Dance Club, setting the tone for the festivities. The audience was then treated to a multimedia presentation of the Annual Report for the academic session 2024-2025, showcasing the milestones and achievements of the college.
In keeping with the theme of the evening, "Together Towards Innovation and Excellence," the students of Dhwani Club enthralled the audience with a melodious medley of songs, highlighting the spirit of unity and creativity at St. Xavier’s. The theme continued with a moving drama, “Ek Naya Savera,” written b Dr. Anurag Ambastha and performed by the students of Xavier Theatre Club, which beautifully illustrated the journey of innovation and excellence, a vision that the college continues to embrace.
As part of the Annual Day celebrations, the college also recognized the achievements of students across various fields. Awards and certificates were presented to students who excelled in singing, dancing, acting, painting, and sports, celebrating their talent and dedication. There were special awards given to students with potential for inspiration and potential for excellence. These are students who have shown immense dedication towards academics and exemplary character.
The highlight of the evening was the much-anticipated Student of the Year Award, which was presented to a student who exemplified academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to the college's values.
The celebrations also featured the release of two books that showcased the academic depth and scholarly contributions of the college. The first book, Moving Towards Green Economy, edited by Dr Niharika Kumari, erstwhile Coordinator of the Department of Economics and Dean of Academics, along with Fr. Dr Martin Poras SJ, Principal of the college, delves into the critical issue of sustainable development and the green economy. The second book, Writers of the Indian Diaspora, edited by Dr Anurag Ambastha, Coordinator of the Department of English, highlights the rich literary contributions of Indian writers from the diaspora.
The evening concluded with a Grand Finale performance by the students, echoing the theme "Together Towards Innovation and Excellence," symbolizing the college's continuous commitment to nurturing the talents and potential of its students.
The celebration was wrapped up with a vote of thanks delivered by the Rector of the college, Fr. Joseph Sebastian SJ, who expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to making the Annual Day celebrations a success and encouraged the college community to continue striving towards excellence.

The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna, successfully organized the National Seminar 2025 on the theme “Media, Society, and Culture: Shaping Public Discourse in a Globalized World" in collaboration with Patna Women's College. The seminar brought together eminent scholars, academicians, and media professionals to engage in insightful discussions on contemporary issues in media and communication.

The seminar was graced by distinguished keynote speakers:
• Prof. Dr. Biplab Loho Chowdhury (Visva Bharti University)
• Dr. Serajul Bhuiyan (Assistant Professor, Savannah State University, USA)
• Mr. Naveen Kumar (Assistant Professor, Amity University, Patna)

Their thought-provoking addresses highlighted the transformative role of media in shaping public opinion, influencing culture, and addressing global challenges in the digital age.

The seminar featured multiple technical sessions, including Technical Session-1 at De Nobili Hall and Technical Session-2 at Lecture Hall 45, where scholars presented research papers on topics such as the role of media in a globalized world, social media policies, digital media’s impact on youth, discourse analysis of Bollywood films, and representations of marginalized communities.

A highly insightful Media Literacy Seminar was conducted on 22nd February 2025 at St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna, by Ms. Minati Chaklanavis on behalf of the FactShala University Network, an initiative led by DataLEADS in collaboration with the Google News Initiative.

The seminar aimed to equip students and young professionals with critical skills to navigate the digital landscape responsibly, identify misinformation, and develop a more analytical approach toward news consumption.

Ms. Minati Chaklanavis engaged the audience with interactive discussions, real-world examples, and hands-on exercises, highlighting the importance of fact-checking, source verification, and the role of credible journalism in a democracy. The session emphasized the dangers of misinformation, media bias, and the need for digital resilience in today’s fast-paced information ecosystem.

Speaking about the initiative, Ms. Chaklanavis said, “In an era of information overload, media literacy is not just a skill but a necessity. This seminar is a step toward empowering individuals to critically assess the information they consume and share.”

The FactShala University Network, supported by Google News Initiative and implemented by DataLEADS, continues to spearhead efforts in promoting media literacy across educational institutions in India, ensuring that young minds are well-equipped to combat misinformation and engage with media responsibly.
