An HR Case Study:
See the video.
This HR case study is based on a real incident that took place in Delhi with an airline between a passenger and some staffers. In the aftermath of this incident, the airline asked for apology from the passenger and fired the staff involved.
You are required to see the video and answer the following questions:
1. What is the case all about?
2. How did the incident start in the video?
3. How many persons were the persons involved in the incident?
4. Who pushed the other party first?
Study the case from the point of view of:
1. A passenger
2. An airline employee
3. Senior management
4. Investors
What do you think will be the impact of it on employee morale? How do you think the airline guest will react to it? How do you think such an incidence could be avoided in future?
IndiGo staff manhandle passenger, airline apologises - Times of India IndiGo ground staff manhandled and dragged a passenger at the Delhi Airport on October 15 after an argument. Senior economists as well as political leaders are today talking about the slowdown that would come due to cash crunch and resultant tendency to hold on to the small amount of valid currency held by people. They are not saying that demonetization is bad. In such a situation may I request all such political parties, economists, newspapers, FM and other radio channels, TV channels to educate the citizen how trade could still take place in-spite of non-availability of cash. I would recommend that:
1. All TV channels should try to educate people through videos about safe usage of cards and e-wallets for making payments or receiving payments as part of their CSR activities.
2. All political parties and particularly the ruling party in the center should employ all the resources it has to make e payment more popular.
3. All colleges, professional or otherwise, should ensure that all students are exposed to such videos about cashless financial transactions.
4. All schools should call parents-teachers meetings to ensure every parent becomes comfortable with the use of e payment options.
5. In railway stations, hospitals, and all other places of assembly, such videos should be played, so that genuine persons should not feel restricted.
6. All NGOs (who are not involved in only money laundering business, a number of them are) should also get involved into this activity of educating the people and thus bringing out a reform..
The essence is the imminent slowdown in trade and business can be minimized through positivity. It is beyond doubt, that demonetization is successful; it will bring immense benefits to our society.
I have some questions. Can you help me with the following?
1. Have the stone throwing incidents on security forces reduced after 9th of Nov?
2. Do you think that the income tax return in the current year and also in the subsequent years go up as a result of demonetization?
3. Do you think that millions of persons who were not used to banking will now start using banks for keeping their money safe?
4. Do you think that show, extravaganza, dowry and wastages in marriages will reduce in future?
5. Do you think that a number of businesses that involved cheating people in the garb of running chit funds, fake management, engineering and medical colleges, malpractices in examinations will reduce as a result of demonetization?
6. Do you think that in the absence of black money, the business of selective feticide and of selling of women will reduce?
7. Will the elections become cleaner in future?
8. Will not playing with fancy cars and bikes by the rich kids on the streets reduce?
9. Will not the expenditure on booze and drugs reduce in future?
Even if you say yes to one of the above, don’t you think that demonetization was worth it?
Let’s all exercise caution in posting or forwarding terror related messages on social media without cross checking their authenticity. In times of crisis, opponents are known to use such media tactics to spread rumours. Please do not fall prey in their hands.
Let’s be one. Please do not support any politics and anyone taking political mileage from recent developments on LOC. Pakistan will try to break Indian mood by spreading such messages.
Let’s also not post or support any caste or religion related messages that could affect our harmony. Once again India remains one while tackling such challenges.
We are not mercenaries. We do not want a war. We have taught a lesson to the terrorists. We should remain ready to reply to any of their misadventure. But we should not provoke. We should remain ever vigilant against their evil desires.
Jai Hind.
