So once again poetry brought us back together. This time with more intensity and more interest and a lot more passion. At Rajat's Roof poetry clashed in a musical battle resting the dominant non poetic world, claiming that there are voices still left to fight, to make themselves heard.
The Programme included Anuj Lugun's passionate, direct and hard hitting poems sometimes talking about chulha and sometimes birds and sometimes of boiling dreams. Richa, apart from being the main organizer of the programme and the initiator of Graffiti's comeback read both her English and Hindi poems showing the same kind of brilliance which she showed in her earlier poems having the most profound radical statements in the most simplest words. Poetry of Kedrarnath Singh, Rajesh Joshi were read by Yogesh Pratap Shekhar exposing the complexity of the prsent world. Alok Dhanwa's poem Bhagi hui Ladkiya and was followed by Prabhat Jha who read Wapas aa Gayin Ladkiyan where those girls came back with more resistance. He also read his 3 part Patna poems.
Amrit Ghosal's poems challenged the social normality and infection and were filled with unique imagery and brilliant language. Silvia Plath was also read by Shagun Singh. Rahul Chaturvedi read his brilliant sensitive poems which surprised many. Aman, a young Hindi poet showed his promise in his first such meeting. Pradeep Kannaujia showed his love for literature with his involvement in the appreciation of the poems which happened after the reading. We will look forward to do that kind of discussion of poetry more in the future. All it did was to disturb us, surprise us and compelled us to think.
May we go forward in the direction where such meetings happen more often. We also expect more and more people to join in, in order make this a movement. Lets express, and not be silent. Lets have pens in our hands and determination in our voice to make things that are silent be heard.
See you in the future.
