One Day Orientation Program for Guest Faculty held in the Department of English, Patna University
30.07.2022. Patna. A One Day Orientation Program for the newly appointed and old guest-faculty was held in the Department of English Patna University with the purpose of informing and guiding the English guest teachers of the various aspects of the newly-framed CBCS syllabus which is going to be implemented in the Undergraduate Courses of the University from the next academic session. Dr Stuti Prasad explained the syllabus and talked in detail about the core courses and DSE, AECC, GE papers. Dr Samir Kumar Sharma explained the examination scheme in vivid detail focusing on the structure of the compulsory internal assessments (CIAs). Dr Tarun Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Humanities talked about the challenges and approaches to teaching. Dr. Shiva Jatan Thakur, former Head and former Member of the BPSC, began his talk by explaining the various education systems in Europe and America. He stressed on the scope and importance of the CBCS system and added that Bihar is still lagging behind as far as the CBCS system is concerned. He expressed happiness and satisfaction over Patna University’s decision of implementing the CBCS syllabus in Undergraduate Courses from July 2022. He was the Chief Guest of the program. The Head of the Department of English, Prof (Dr) Arjun Kumar welcomed the guest teachers of English.He stressed on the importance of commitment and punctuality. The Meeting was attended by all the guest teachers of English namely Ajay Kumar, Annu Praksh, Shilpi Sagar, Anamika, Aliyah Khan, Raunak Hasnaik, Rohini, Anchit Pandey, and Preeti Bala. The Orientation Program was also attended by research scholars Preeti Kumari Choudhary, Zarneen Arzoo, Avdhesh Kumar and others.
