The decision to give 10 percent reservation to the upper castes in the Modi cabinet meeting today has been approved.
The decision to give reservation on economic basis is not new.

Before today, the government of Narasimha Rao gave 10% reservation to the upper castes on September 25, 1991 - just like it has been given today

Later, the matter went to the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court declared this reservation illegal.

The bench of the nine judges of the Supreme Court had dismissed this reservation in the decision of the case "Indira Sahni v. Government of India" saying that the basis of reservation can not be considered as income and property.

The Supreme Court also said in its judgment that in the Article 16 (4) of the Constitution there is reservation group, not the person. Reservation on economic basis is a violation of the basic right of equality.

Likewise, in the year 2017, the court rejected the system of reservation of 10% for the 6 lakh annual income people by the Gujarat government.

The Rajasthan government had arranged 5% reservation for the upper class poor and 14% for the poor and 5% reservation for the poor in 2015 - they were also canceled.

Such a decision of the Haryana Government could not even stand in the court.

Actually, BJP knows that this decision is not going to end in the court.
In the past, many such examples are present, even though its BJP has decided to give reservations to the upper castes on economic basis.

There are two main reasons for this - first, the BJP's upper caste vote bank is now slipping and it is afraid that by 2019 it will not be completely in its favor.

Second, to reduce the damage control between Classes after the SC / ST Act. If the election is near, then there is every possibility that the average intellectual voter, who will run away towards the nota or other parties, will return to the BJP.
