The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a five-and-a-half year undergraduate degree in India that prepares students to become doctors:
Curriculum
The MBBS curriculum includes 4.5 years of academic study and one year of internship:
Academic study: Students learn subjects like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, and clinical medicine.
Internship: Students gain practical experience in hospitals and clinics under the supervision of qualified doctors.
Admission
Students must pass the NEET UG exam, which covers physics, chemistry, and biology. After passing the exam, students are called for counseling and must bring certain documents, including their mark sheets and certificates from classes 10 and 12, their NEET admit card and rank card, and passport-size photographs.
Language
The medium of instruction in most medical colleges in India is English.
