High speed broadband internet now installed in the ICT classroom. The world of knowledge now ready to pour in!

Visit to the school by Mukesh Kumar who is working as a Senior Project manager at a large multinational firm in Bangalore. Mukesh is from Jamshedpur in erstwhile Bihar and credits his success in life to the foundational education he had in the state.
Mukesh emphasized the importance of education and provided valuable guidance to the students, class VIII in particular. He was happy to see the enthusiasm of the kids.
Mukesh observed that if proper guidance, equipped infrastructure, well stocked library, curriculum books and technology support are provided, these students can make a good life for themselves and their future generations. He pledged support for the school and called upon everyone who has roots in Bihar/ Jharkhand to come forward in mission mode.

Carpentry and electrical work complete. 16X4 Table with switchboards ready and waiting for computers to arrive! Thanks to headmaster sir Asim Kumar Mishra and dedicated teacher Mr Anil Kumar Singh for their help in coordinating the effort.

Heartfelt thanks to Satyaprakash Dubey, Mayank Kumar Singh, Niranjan Kumar Sinha, Aravind, Deepika Dubey and Surbhi Saxena for donating the laptops. Will soon be refurbished to fix any issues, re-install softwares like MS Office, and be shipped from Bangalore to Patna. These will constitute the first few computers to grace the ICT lab in progress.

Buoyed by the success of the whiteboard project, the team decided to launch another project to convert this classroom into a dedicated ICT (Information and Communication Technology) lab.

The students of the school are far behind compared to their counterparts in private schools. ICT can play a key role in bridging the foundational gap, as is also envisaged by the National Education policy (NEP 2020). Of course while the government is accountable and can have the scale to execute, we as citizens are also expected to do our bit.

Mission: Enhance student LO (Learning Outcome), Improve school attendance and help achieve FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) in accordance with NEP 2020

Project: Setup an ICT lab with new desktops, refurbished laptops, smartboards and supporting infrastructure including tables, chairs, painted room etc.

As the lab gets setup, teachers will be trained on how to leverage it for more impactful lesson delivery. It will be demonstrated to the Additional Chief Secretary of Education in the government of Bihar.

Despite our best intentions and efforts, some of the whiteboards did not stick around for long 😌 either because they were not stuck properly or kids being kids fiddled with them. Thanks to dear friend Nitin Prakash who visited the school and suggested bordering the boards with wood to make it stronger. His suggestion implemented and the whiteboards re-fitted. Stronger than before 💪
