FIST (TBI), IIT Patna, in collaboration with TIH Vishlesan i-HUB and EE Department, IIT Patna, successfully organized a Workshop & Panel Discussion on:

“AI in Forensics: Opportunities, Challenges, and Ethical Boundaries”
Key Highlights from the Event:

Hon’ble Director Prof. T. N. Singh delivered a powerful message:
“Whether you like AI or not, you have to face it.”
A strong reminder that AI is inevitable in shaping the future.

Shri Sanjeev Kumar, IRS (DPIIT) expressed pride in visiting his motherland Bihar and appreciated the evolving ecosystem:
Highlighted how AI startups are transforming the innovation landscape and contributing to nation-building.

Prof. K. P. Singh (Former Director, IIT BHU) deeply motivated students and participants:
Encouraged them to embrace emerging technologies like AI
Emphasized the importance of innovation, curiosity, and continuous learning in building impactful careers

Shri Sanjay Kr. Singh, IPS (DIG, STF) and his team shared practical policing cases, demonstrating how:

Successful Completion of Two-Week Specialized Training on Electrical Safety of Vande Bharat Trainsets & High Voltage Systems

The two-week intensive training programme (09-20 February )on Electrical Safety of Vande Bharat Trainsets and High Voltage Systems concluded successfully at FIST, IIT Patna in collaboration with the IRMEE, Ministry of Railways, GoI.

The programme commenced with an inspiring inaugural session, setting the tone for an academically rigorous and practically relevant learning journey. Experts emphasized the growing importance of electrical safety in modern high-speed train operations such as Vande Bharat Express.

Technical Sessions & Classroom Learning
Throughout the programme, participants engaged in comprehensive classroom sessions covering:
• High-voltage safety standards
• Operational protocols
• Maintenance practices
• System diagnostics
• Real-world case studies

Eminent faculty members from IITs, NITs, and industry specialists from ISRO ensured a strong blend of the morforetical knowledge and practical insights.

Laboratory Demonstrations
Hands-on lab demonstrations provided participants with practical exposure to high-voltage systems, safety mechanisms, preventive maintenance techniques, and risk mitigation strategies—bridging the gap between academic learning and field implementation.

Vande Bharat Depot Visit
A key highlight of the training was the visit to a Vande Bharat depot, where officials witnessed real-time maintenance practices, integrated electrical architecture, and safety compliance measures in operation. This field exposure enriched their understanding of advanced trainset systems.

Holistic Development Sessions
Recognizing the demanding nature of railway operations, the programme also included:
Yoga sessions
Meditation practices
Mind relaxation & de-stress workshops

These sessions helped participants rejuvenate, improve focus, and maintain mental well-being alongside technical excellence.

Prof. T. N. Singh, Director, IIT Patna, emphasized that electrical safety is the cornerstone of reliable and sustainable high-speed rail operations and appreciated the collaboration between academia and Indian Railways.

Valedictory Ceremony
The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony graced by distinguished academicians and railway leaders. Certificates were distributed to the participants, marking the successful culmination of a significant capacity-building initiative under academia–industry collaboration.

This two-week journey not only enhanced technical competence in handling high-voltage systems of Vande Bharat trainsets but also strengthened safety awareness, operational preparedness, and professional resilience among railway officials from across India.

The journey toward safer, smarter, and more self-reliant Indian Railways took a strong step forward today with the inauguration of the specialized training programme on “Electrical Safety of Vande Bharat Trainsets and High Voltage Systems” at IIT Patna, scheduled from 9–20 February 2026 at the IIT Patna campus .

The inaugural session brought together a powerful blend of academia and railway leadership, setting the tone for meaningful learning and collaboration.

Shri Animesh Kumar Sinha, Director General, IRMEE, Ministry of Railways, emphasized the critical importance of electrical and operational safety in Vande Bharat trainsets. He highlighted that as India moves toward faster and more advanced trains, safety culture, technical competence, and continuous training of railway professionals are the true backbone of progress.

Prof. T. N. Singh, FIST Chairman and Director IIT Patna, spoke about how deeper collaboration between IITs and Indian Railways can accelerate innovation, research, and skill development. He reiterated IIT Patna’s commitment to supporting Indian Railways through technology, training, and knowledge partnership. Strengthening this bond, IRMEE and IIT have also formalized collaboration through an MoU, marking a long-term vision for joint growth.

Dr. Anup Kumar Keshri (Director FIST & Dean R&D, IIT Patna) welcomed participants and underlined that capacity building of railway engineers directly contributes to national development.
Dr. Praveen Kumar (CEO, FIST, IIT Patna & Programme Coordinator)* shared that this programme is designed to blend real-world railway challenges with cutting-edge academic insight, ensuring practical impact.
Prof. Prem Prakash, Dean & SP, RST, IRMEE, spoke about the evolving technology in modern trainsets and the need for specialized, up-to-date training.
Prof. Siddharth Shankar, highlighted that structured training like this strengthens safety standards across the railway network.

What makes this programme special is the participation of railway officials from across India, creating a vibrant platform for sharing field experience, best practices, and innovation.

This inauguration is not just the start of a course—it is the start of a stronger safety culture, deeper collaboration, and a shared vision for a modern Indian Railways.

FIST-TBI, IIT Patna successfully organized the Startups Orientation cm Workshop Program, for Batch-3, startups under Bihar Startup Initiative, which brought together visionary leaders, startup founders, and domain experts to decode the real journey of entrepreneurship.A day filled with expert talks, real startup journeys, financial wisdom, and actionable insights for aspiring founders.

Dr. Praveen Kumar, CEO, FIST-TBI, welcomed participants and introduced the vision, facilities, and support ecosystem of FIST-TBI, while also highlighting the journey and potential of newly inducted startups.

Prof. T. N. Singh, Chairman FIST & Director, IIT Patna, emphasized the role of academic institutions in nurturing innovation-driven entrepreneurship and encouraged startups to leverage research strength and institutional mentorship.

Dr. Asif Ekbal (IIT Patna, CSE) spoke on “From Research to Revenue”, explaining how AI research can be converted into scalable products by focusing on real-world problems, data readiness, and sustainable business models.

Dr. Mahesh Kumar H. Kolekar (IIT Patna, EE) highlighted how electrical engineering innovations drive startup growth, showcasing how core engineering solutions can lead to impactful commercial ventures.

Mr. Subash Chandra (Parkhi Skills Pvt. Ltd.) shared a practical Startup Playbook, discussing common mistakes founders should avoid and strategies needed to scale efficiently.

Mr. Satyjeet presented the inspiring Journey of Caveo, introducing the innovative Air-Orienter cooling technology capable of reducing room temperature by up to 4°C more efficiently than conventional ACs.

Dr. N. K. Arya (Director, DPR, DRDO) spoke on “Achieving Peak Performance in Startups”, cautioning founders against the “Flap Forever” trap and emphasizing focus, ex*****on, and long-term vision.

The session concluded with an engaging interaction where participants discussed challenges, funding, technology commercialization, and growth strategies directly with the experts.

Today, FIST, IIT Patna had the privilege of hosting an impactful interaction with the SBI Foundation team, a significant step toward empowering emerging startups shaping the future of India.
Our homegrown innovators — Magtapp, Parkhi Skills, Immortigen, BNLP, Nayavyapar, Vaimanika Aerospace, FlareHex, Mass Innovators Pvt. Ltd., Pesticide Detection Device, Bizfylr Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and PulyFueler — pitched their ideas and showcased how their cutting-edge solutions are addressing real societal challenges. From technology for education and skill development to aviation, biotechnology, sustainability, and smart mobility — the spirit of innovation was on full display.

Prof. T. N. Singh, Chairman FIST and Director, IIT Patna emphasized that commercialization is the key, age is no barrier in entrepreneurship, and success depends on ex*****on rather than just ideas.
