*What is rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, also known as a "nose job," is a surgical procedure that changes the shape and structure of the nose.

Types of rhinoplasty:

1. *Open rhinoplasty*: A small incision is made on the columella (the skin between the nostrils) to access the nasal tissues.

2. *Closed rhinoplasty*: All incisions are made inside the nose, with no external scars.
3. *Revision rhinoplasty*: A second surgery to correct or refine the results of a previous rhinoplasty.

*Reasons for rhinoplasty:*

1. *Aesthetic*: Improve the appearance of the nose, such as reducing the size, changing the shape, or refining the tip.
2. *Functional*: Improve breathing difficulties, such as a deviated septum or nasal congestion.
3. *Reconstructive*: Repair nasal injuries or birth defects.

*Risks and considerations:*

1. *Scarring*
2. *Infection*
3. *Bleeding*
4. *Nasal septal perforation*
5. *Unsatisfactory results*
6. *Breathing difficulties*

*Recovery:*

1. *Swelling and bruising*: Lasts for several weeks
2. *Pain*: Managed with medication
3. *Nasal congestion*: May last for several months
4. *Stitches*: Removed within a week
5. *Full recovery*: Takes several months to a year
