The Chanakya Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, CNLU conducted a guest lecture on the topic “Journey from CNLU to Dentons-Link Legal” on 08th October 2023 at the CNLU Campus.
The session commenced with a short introductory note by Ms. Rishika Sharma (Co-Convenor, CCADR) and Ms. Aisha Singh (Senior Associate Editor, CCADR), wherein they welcomed the guest speaker, our 2012 CNLU alumnus, Mr. Ambuj Sonal, Partner, Dentons-Link Legal. Mr. Sonal has over 11 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, cross-border investments, private equity, and venture capital investments. His expertise extends to foreign exchange regulations, equity & debt investments, employment matters, general corporate & commercial laws, and more. His deep understanding of complex legal issues is evident through his articles published in esteemed journals and online media. Recognitions are just a little behind - Mr. Sonal has been acknowledged as a Next Generation Partner in Corporate and M&A by The Legal 500, Asia Pacific, in 2023. He was also recognized as one of the Future Legal Leaders by India Business Law Journal in 2023 and featured in Forbes India Legal Power List 2021 as one of the Top Individual Lawyers in Corporate and Commercial Law.
We had the great privilege of hosting Mr. Sonal as the Guest Speaker and an Expert Assessor for the Final Rounds of the National Client Counselling Competition, 2023, conducted as part of Vidhikta 2.0 - Legal Aid Fest of CNLU.
Mr. Sonal commenced the lecture by remembering his days at the University. He continued sharing his struggles with the students of CNLU, how he moved through his professional journey, the role CNLU had to play, and the skills one needs to build before entering the corporate legal field. Mr. Sonal also shared multiple personal anecdotes that served as stories of motivation and inspiration to his juniors at CNLU. The session ended with a round of questions from the participants and a warm vote of thanks given by Ms. Daksh*ta Dubey (Event Convenor, CCADR). The session was attended by over 100 students of the university.
