An indelible mark has been left on the land of India by one of the nation builders and the first Prime Minister of india Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru . A deliberate attempt has been made by the present regime to eradicate Pandit Nehru from the scenes of achievement achieved by India in 75 years feasibly impossible . The present political dominant force is the outcome of the significant achievements which strengthen such opportunity during these decades .
The nation builders who envisaged the values imprinted in the Constitution include - freedom of speech ,religion , secularism , socialism ,universal adult franchise ,welfare state and independent judiciary - flourished gradually .But the challenges remain standing round these values . At his midnight stirring speech after attaining freedom The Pandit JL Nehru remarked : "The achievement we celebrate today is but a step , an opening of the opportunity , to the greater triumphs and the achievement that await us . Are we brave enough and wise enough to grasp the opportunity and accept the challenge of the future ? "
Challenges in today's India are manifolds .The emerging devide on communal line, the cases of cast atrocities weaken to make India world leader . The uniqueness of India is her diversity and the inclusive growth for all . That makes India a unique liberal democracy as visualised by the freedom fighters . Attempts seeking to make it of homogenous identity and to centralise power by the dominant political force threaten the basic structure of the Constitution . The Directive Principle of State policy intent to bring social justice , equality and economic progress for all. The burgeoning communal majoritarianism , marginalisation that were openly rejected by the framers of the Constitution .
A bottom-up of approach needs to be adopted that should focus not only to check the rising communal hatred but also to alleviate economic concentration .The dreams of our freedom fighters to make India a liberal democratic country can only be realised when we eradicate the enemies of our Indian democratic values .To conclude I once again quote Pandit Nehru : " democracy is like a tender plant ,if we do not water
