प्रसिद्ध कवि और दार्शनिक रवीन्द्रनाथ टैगोर द्वारा 1901 में ग्रामीण पश्चिम बंगाल में स्थापित, शांतिनिकेतन एक आवासीय विद्यालय और प्राचीन भारतीय परंपराओं और धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक सीमाओं से परे मानवता की एकता की दृष्टि पर आधारित कला का केंद्र था। मानवता की एकता या "विश्व भारती" को मान्यता देते हुए 1921 में शांतिनिकेतन में एक 'विश्व विश्वविद्यालय' की स्थापना की गई थी। 20वीं सदी की शुरुआत के प्रचलित ब्रिटिश औपनिवेशिक वास्तुशिल्प अभिविन्यास और यूरोपीय आधुनिकतावाद से अलग, शांतिनिकेतन एक पैन-एशियाई आधुनिकता की ओर दृष्टिकोण का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है, जो पूरे क्षेत्र की प्राचीन, मध्ययुगीन और लोक परंपराओं पर आधारित है।

World Environment Day 2023

World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 every year to raise awareness and encourage action for the protection of our planet. It was first established by the United Nations General Assembly ,during the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment in 1972. First Celebrated in 1973 on June 5.

Sikkim Day Celebrated on 16 May..

Sikkim formation as a State On 16 May 1975, Sikkim became the 22nd state of the Indian Union, and the monarchy was abolished.To enable the incorporation of the new state, the Indian Parliament amended the Indian Constitution. First, the 35th Amendment laid down a set of conditions that made Sikkim an "Associate State", a special designation not used by any other state. A month later, the 36th Amendment repealed the 35th Amendment, and made Sikkim a full state, adding its name to the First Schedule of the Constitution.

Sikkim is a state in northeastern India. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region of China in the north and northeast, Bhutan in the east, Koshi Province of Nepal in the west and West Bengal in the south. Sikkim is also close to the Siliguri Corridor, which borders Bangladesh. Sikkim is the least populous and second smallest among the Indian states. Situated in the Eastern Himalaya, Sikkim is notable for its biodiversity, including alpine and subtropical climates, as well as being a host to Kangchenjunga, the highest peak in India and third highest on Earth. Sikkim's capital and largest city is Gangtok. Almost 35% of the state is covered by Khangchendzonga National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
