The Information of Punjab State Twenty20 cricket association PSTCA is as under. Our Punjab State Twenty 20 Cricket Association affiliated to Indian Twenty20 Cricket Federation (ITCF-INDIA) has been organizing Twenty 20 Inter District/ Inter-Club Cricket Tournaments in State. Keeping in mind that in Punjab State,

hundreds of poor cricket players are playing cricket but golden opportunities are less and hidden talents are surplus. Punjab State Twenty 20 Cricket Association (PSTCA-005-N.Z.) is big official/legal platform for these neglected surplus talented poor cricket players from all over Punjab who cannot avail any opportunity to come forward to play official cricket and serve the State and Country through their cricket talent. These surplus players i.e from Government Schools, Village and Small Town Street waste their time, money and talent by playing involve by playing under false/fake associations/club/ academies, and even most players involve in human smuggling and spoil their future. The only motive of these above referred fake associations/club/academies is to collect the money from these innocent players. As you are aware, there is great desire in Punjabi youth to settle down abroad by hook and crook, which is exploited by these fake associations/club/academies Our Punjab State Twenty 20 Cricket Association affiliated to Indian Twenty 20 Cricket Federation (ITCF-INDIA), has been organizing Twenty 20 Inter District/ Inter-club Cricket Tournaments in State. Our state Twenty 20 Cricket Association is affiliated with Indian Twenty 20 Cricket Federation (ITCF-INDIA) http://www.itcf20.com/ Our Association Code Number is 005 allotted by ITCF-India. Our Association is registered with Registrar of Firms and Societies under 1860 Society Act. The controlling authority of our zone is CEO North. In this context, we submit that 20 District Units have been with PSTCA-005-N.Z.(Last being Barnala District). These units are divided in 4 Zones i.e Zone-I Zone-II, Zone-III and Zone-IV. Every Zone is having 5 District Units each. All Zones have been conducting Inter-Zone Twenty 20 Tournaments of Senior & Junior levels on rotation basis. Out of each Zone, top two teams i.e champions & runners up play for Punjab State Inter District Twenty 20 Cricket championship for Senior & Junior Level. The controlling Authority of every Zone is Liaison Officer (L.O), the appointment of whom is made for two years by PSTCA-005-N.Z. These units are also in process of registration of their concern districts under one registration number of PSTCA-005-N.Z. These 20 District Units have further 60 affiliated sub-units which have further affiliated 240 Club/Village/Town Street units. These District Units conduct Twenty 20 Cricket Tournaments within their area so as to promote the Twenty 20 Cricket from grass-roots level in State from every corner. The T20 cricket calendar of PSTCA-005-N.Z™ starts in summers from 31st March to end of August & in Winters 1st October to end of February. This is for your kind information and necessary action at your end.

Patiala, however, was waking up to a new reality. Thanks to the efforts of Rajindra – multiple historians have supported this notion through books and essays on the subject – cricket was a prime currency in the area. “The Maharajas of Patiala,” Boria Majumdar wrote in the Lost Histories of Indian Cricket: Battles Off the Pitch, “had taken to cricket patronage in the late 19th century to assert equality with the colonial masters. Maharaja Rajinder Singh initiated cricket patronage in Patiala, employing cricketers from across the country.”

SM Verma, a former professor of history at Punjabi University in Patiala, explained the genesis behind the sport’s birth and subsequent growth in the area. “You can call this the Mecca of cricket of North India,” he said. “The prince (Rajindra Singh) would often go and stay in Shimla. Over there, he watched people associated with the British army play cricket in a place called Annadale. That’s how he got fascinated with the game.”

Armed with more than a rudimentary knowledge of the game, Rajindra, with the help of Ranbir, started to popularise cricket in Patiala. They enlisted servants serving the royal family and split them into two teams. Captain Rajindra XI vs Captain Ranbir XI. But he wasn’t a satisfied man because they were playing in a small area. So, Ranbir was asked to construct a ground inside the premises. That’s how the cricket ground at Baradari (known later on as Rajindra Gymkhana) came into being.

With Patiala now a suitable place to host matches beyond those of the younger brother taking on the older, the Maharaja approached a group of Parsis for a clash. “In 1896 or 1897, a Parsi team was coming back from Shimla and they were asked to play a match in Patiala. A Maharaja XI vs Parsis XI was organised. That’s how one of the first matches came to be played in Baradari.”
