Awareness Drive on Waste Segregation & Hygiene Practices

Date: May 4, 2026

The Eco Club of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, in collaboration with NCC, NSS, and Youth Red Cross units, organized an Awareness Drive under Mission Clean Patiala launched by the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) in association with the District Administration. The drive aimed to educate street vendors and shopkeepers about the importance of waste segregation and hygienic practices for a cleaner environment.
Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal lauded the initiative and emphasized that such outreach activities play a vital role in bridging the gap between academic learning and social responsibility. He motivated the students to become ambassadors of cleanliness and hygiene, urging them to carry forward the message of sustainable living in their daily lives. He further highlighted that collective efforts by educational institutions and civic bodies are essential for building a cleaner, healthier, and more responsible society.
The event received valuable support and encouragement from Sh. Dhruv Suri and Dr. Gurshagan Kandhola, who lauded the initiative and highlighted the need for collective responsibility towards environmental cleanliness.
The activity was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, College Supervisor for Mission Clean Patiala. NCC students were actively motivated by Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, ANO NCC Boys Unit, and Dr. Nidhi Rani Gupta, ANO NCC Girls Unit, to participate enthusiastically in the campaign.
Officials from the Municipal Corporation present on the occasion included Ms. Mohinderjit Kaur (Program Coordinator); Motivators Sh. Narish Kumar, Yosaf, Gurdeep Singh, and Harpreet Singh; along with the SBM team and Sanitary Inspector Inderjeet Singh, who supported and guided the awareness activities.
Dr. Manish Sharma and Dr. Heena Sachdeva (in charge of Youth Red Cross) actively accompanied the students during the drive and directly interacted with street vendors and shopkeepers to spread awareness about waste segregation and hygiene practices.
Traffic Police and other police personnel provided valuable support by managing traffic and ensuring the safety of participants during the drive. S. Puneet Singh Chahal, DSP, Punjab Police, extended support by deputing traffic personnel for effective traffic control, which ensured the smooth conduct of the activity.
The drive proved to be a meaningful step towards promoting awareness about cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and community responsibility among students and the general public.

Modi College, Patiala honoured by District Red Cross Society on World Red Cross Day, 2026.

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, received honour and recognition during the World Red Cross Day Celebration 2026 organized by the Indian Red Cross Society on 8 May 2026 at the Red Cross District Disability Rehabilitation Centre. The programme was organized to promote the global theme “United in Humanity” and to acknowledge the valuable contribution of individuals associated with social service and humanitarian activities.

Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Principal, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, attended the programme as an invited guest and was honoured by the District Red Cross Society for his continuous encouragement and support towards educational, social, and community welfare activities carried out by the institution. Under his leadership, the college has actively promoted values of discipline, service, and holistic development among students.

Dr. Heena Sachdeva, In Charge, Youth Red Cross Unit, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, was also honoured during the function in recognition of her sincere efforts and active involvement in Youth Red Cross activities, awareness programmes, and humanitarian initiatives. Her contribution towards motivating students to participate in social service activities has strengthened the spirit of volunteerism and community welfare in the college.

ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ 8 ਮਈ 2026 ਨੂੰ 'ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦਿਵਸ' ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ "ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਕਤਾ" ਦੇ ਸੁਨੇਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

ਯੂਥ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਦੀ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਹੀਨਾ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਸਦਕਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਧੀ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਲੰਟੀਅਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਕਾਲਜ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਇਹ ਮਾਣ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

Report on Cleanliness Drive under Mission Clean Patiala

The Eco Club of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a cleanliness drive in collaboration with the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and the District Administration under the “Mission Clean Patiala” initiative launched by PPCB.
The drive witnessed active participation from volunteers of NSS, Youth Red Cross, and NCC, along with college students. The cleanliness campaign commenced from the college gate and continued up to Budha Dal Public School Chowk, covering a significant stretch of the locality. Municipal Corporation officials, sanitation workers, and volunteers worked collectively to ensure effective cleaning of the area.
Dr Neeraj Goyal, Principal of the college addressed the gathering and emphasized that cleanliness is a continuous responsibility and an essential part of a healthy and sustainable society. He highlighted the importance of individual and collective efforts in maintaining hygiene and urged students to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives. He also appreciated the collaborative spirit of various departments and agencies in making the initiative successful.
Officials from the Punjab Pollution Control Board delivered insightful messages during the event. Sh. Dhruv Suri emphasized the need for proper waste management and awareness regarding environmental pollution, while Dr Gurshagan Kandhola highlighted the role of youth in promoting sustainable practices such as waste segregation and reduction of plastic usage. Both officials appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and encouraged them to act as responsible citizens.

The Youth Red Cross Unit organized a door-to-door awareness campaign along with the distribution of hygiene kits

The Youth Red Cross Unit of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, organized a door-to-door awareness campaign focusing on the vital role of proper hand hygiene and essential cleanliness practices in preventing diseases, along with the distribution of hygiene kits to mark World Health Day. The initiative aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of maintaining clean hands and adopting basic hygiene practices, especially among domestic workers, who often have limited access to health education and resources.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Neeraj Goyal, emphasized that proper hand hygiene is one of the most important measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. He highlighted that many communicable illnesses can be significantly reduced through regular and correct handwashing practices. He further stated that awareness about the importance of clean hands must reach every household, as it forms the foundation of a healthy and disease-free society. He appreciated the efforts of the Youth Red Cross Unit and reiterated that Multani Mal Modi College actively encourages such socially relevant outreach activities that promote public health awareness and community well-being.
The campaign was organized and conducted by Youth Red Cross Unit programme officer Dr. Heena Sachdeva, who personally visited nearby residential areas and interacted with house help. She sensitized them about the importance of effective hand cleansing and the direct role of clean hands in reducing disease transmission. As part of the initiative, hygiene kits containing liquid hand cleansers along with refill packs were distributed amongst 30 beneficiaries to encourage sustained use and to reinforce the habit of maintaining clean hands in daily life.
Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Dean, Life Sciences, appreciated the initiative and stated that such programs are essential in bridging the gap between awareness and practice. He emphasized that promoting proper hand hygiene among underserved communities can significantly reduce disease burden and improve overall public health.
The campaign concluded successfully, creating a meaningful impact by reinforcing the message that simple practices like regular handwashing can play a powerful role in disease prevention, while also highlighting the institution’s commitment to community outreach and social responsibility.

Modi College Students Excel at National Drama Competition in Delhi

Students of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, Punjab, proudly participated in a prestigious national drama competition organized by the Shakespeare Society of India in collaboration with the University of Delhi. The event was held on 23rd April at the SP Jain Auditorium, South Campus, Delhi and witnessed enthusiastic participation from theatre teams across the country.
A team of 13 students from various courses represented the college under the direction of Prof. Gaganpreet Kaur. Showcasing their talent, dedication, and passion for dramatic arts, the students competed at a national level with remarkable confidence and artistic excellence. The event served as a valuable platform for cultural exchange and creative expression, exposing students to diverse theatrical styles and performances.
This participation marked a historic milestone for the institution, reflecting its growing presence on a national stage of performing arts. The team was accompanied by Dr. Maninder Kaur Bains.
Adding to this achievement, our student Renuka brought laurels to the college by securing the Runner-Up Award for Best Actor, highlighting her exceptional performance and stage presence.

SOCIAL SERVICE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORLD CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION DAY

On April 21, 2026, Multani Mal Modi College organized a poster-making competition to celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day with the theme "Awareness on Basic AI Usage for Cadets." The event was held to encourage students to be creative while learning how to use Artificial Intelligence responsibly in their daily lives. A total of 38 cadets from 10 PB BN NCC and 5 PB BN NCC participated with great energy, making colorful posters that showed the benefits and ethical side of AI in education and society. The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal, along with the support of ANO Lt. Dr. Nidhi Rani Gupta and ANO Lt. Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, who motivated the students throughout the event. To reward their hard work, prizes were given to the best posters, making the day a great success. Overall, the competition helped the cadets showcase their artistic talents while gaining important knowledge about using technology for positive and productive goals.

Multani Mal Modi College Releases Prospectus for new session 2026-27

Patiala: 22 April, 2026

Multani Mal Modi College today released its prospectus for the academic session 2026-2027, marking the beginning of the admission process for the prospective students. The college achieved autonomous status from the University Grants Commission last year. This event was presided over by Colonel Karaminder Singh, member of the College Management Committee.

The new prospectus is designed strictly according to the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It includes a variety of innovative, career-oriented, and industry-based programs, highlighting skills-based training and courses designed to prepare students for the dynamic job markets and successful careers.

Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Principal of Multani Mal Modi College, congratulated the faculty and staff for maintaining the quality of educational standards and various achievements in the academic, sports, and co-curricular activities. He motivated the teachers to enhance learning experiences by incorporating technology-driven multimedia tools and to prioritize research in course syllabi.

Colonel Karaminder Singh, along with Dr. Goyal, officially launched the prospectus and addressed faculty members, encouraging them to uphold professional ethics and work collaboratively for the advancement of the educational institution.

The registrar of the college, Dr. Ajit Kumar, and the admission in-charge, Dr. Harmohan Sharma, contributed to discussions regarding the various aspects of the new prospectus with the teaching staff. In this event, Dean Publication Dr. Deepika Singla and Deputy Controller of Examination Dr. Varun Jain were also present.

ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਰਨਲ ਕਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਰਸਮੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਸਪੈਕਟਸ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮਿਲ-ਜੁਲ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ: ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਐਡਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਟੀਚਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ ਨਾਲ ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਸਪੈਕਟਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ।ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੀਨ ਪਬਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਡਾ.ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਤੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਆਫ ਐਗਜ਼ਾਮੀਨੇਸ਼ਨ ਡਾ.ਵਰੁਣ ਜੈਨ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਸਨ।

ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਸੀ।

Observance of World Day of Social Justice through Donation Drive at Sai Birdh Ashram, Chaura Road, Patiala

Date: February 28, 2026

The Youth Red Cross Unit of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a donation drive to commemorate World Day of Social Justice. On this occasion, the team visited Sai Birdh Ashram to distribute ration and essential commodities among the elderly residents. College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal appreciated the initiative and reiterated that the college consistently upholds a strong commitment to community outreach and social responsibility. He remarked that such service-oriented activities reflect the true spirit of education and nurture empathy, compassion, and civic awareness among students.
Observed annually on 20th February, World Day of Social Justice underscores the principles of equality, human rights, and inclusive development, calling for collective efforts to support marginalized and vulnerable sections of society. The donation drive was organized by Dr. Heena Sachdeva in accordance with the humanitarian mission of the Youth Red Cross. Participating faculty members from the Department of Life Sciences and NSS volunteers extended financial support.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Dean, Life Sciences, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, who emphasized the vital role of youth in advancing social justice and community welfare. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, NSS unit incharge motivated students to make maximum contribution.
The initiative further strengthened the college’s dedication to humanitarian service and reinforced the values of empathy, social responsibility, and responsible citizenship among students.

ਮਿਤੀ 01 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2026 ਨੂੰ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗਠਿਤ 'ਸਾਹਿਤ ਸਭਾ' ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਲੇਖਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਨਵਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਉਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਖਰੀਦ ਕੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਗੇ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਵ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਬਣ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਮਾਧਿਅਮ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਵੀਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਅਤੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਦੌਰੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਕ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੋ-ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ।

Students participated in the inter college METTLE Fest at Ludhiana

The students of the Department of Management participated in the inter college METTLE Fest at Shri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, Ludhiana held on 21st February 2026. The fest themed “Viksit Bharat: Innovation, Governance and Growth”, brought together Bright minds from across institutions to compete in various challenging events.

Our students showcased their creativity, analytical thinking and teamwork in 4 competitions- Logo Designing, Case Study, Management Quiz and Ad Mad Show and won the following Prizes:

LOGO DESIGNING- 2nd Prize

The winners were awarded trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance. Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal congratulated the students and extended his heartfelt appreciation to the faculty members and coordinator for their constant guidance, support and mentorship that played a key role in this success. Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, Coordinator of the department also congratulated the winners and motivated the students for further participation in such events to boost their confidence.
