Kangiten is the God worshipped in Japan. It's representation is very much similar to Shri Ganesh.
Even it's other names Binayak and Ganahattei are similar to Indian names Vinayak and Ganpati.
Actually Tantrayan Buddhism of Odisha adopted Ganesh and from there it reached China and then Japan.
However Ganesh is God who removes all obstacles, but Kangiten has both positive and negative features. Kangiten is the creator of problems but with prayer he can be appeased to remove all obstacles (Similar to Ganesh).
With Similarities, there are few differences also between Ganesh and Kangiten. Ganesh loves Modak but Kangiten loves Radish.

About 10 Km from Patiala is a village Bahadurgarh. It's original name was Saifabad named by Saif Khan after him. Saif Khan who founded this village was a noble during rule of Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb.
He was dismissed from imperial service a number of times as he never hesitate in opposing even the emperor. This is how he got 2nd name Faqirrulah. But his opposition was always logical so was reinstated soon after every dismissal. Beside it he was also a poet & musician. He wrote book on Indian Classical music called Risala Rag Darpan, and one on Indian Classical dances, Risala Rag i Hind.
Saif Khan had very cordial relations with the 9th Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
Saif Khan mediated between the Guru and Aurangzeb over the issue of Kashmiri Pandits. Saif Khan knew about the problems faced by Pandits as he was subedar of Kashmir in past.
Guru ji stayed for nearly two months as Saif Khan's guest before going to Delhi and attaining martyrdom.
In 1837, Maharaja Karam Singh renamed the place as Bahadurgarh as a tribute to 9th Sikh Guru.

We in India have temples dedicated to Sun but not to Moon. There are Navgrah temples but not specifically for Moon. But there is a Temple "Chandiranaar Temple" also called Kailasanathar temple.
This Temple is dedicated to Moon God. Located in Thingalur in Tamil Nadu.
It was originally built by Cholas but reconstructed during the Nayaks Period.
Legend related to the temple is similar to that of Somnath Temple of Gujarat. Chandra being partial for one particular Wife, Rohini was cursed by Daksh (his Father in Law) to lose his Glow. So, here he worshipped Lord Shiv and regained his Energy.

6 Countries celebrate their Independence Day on 15 August

Jatindra Nath Das was arrested in 1929 for his revolutionary activities and was imprisoned in Lahore Jail. There he began hunger strike along with other freedom fighters demanding equality for Indian prisoners with those from Europe.
Hunger strike lasted 63 days and he died on 13 September 1929. His funeral procession went from Lahore to Calcutta by train. Thousands of people rushed to the railway stations to pay homage to him.
Subhash Chandra Bose called Jatin Das the young Dadhichi of India. Dadhichi was the Rishi who sacrificed his life to give his bones for making the Vajra of Indra to kill the demon, Vritrasur.
Similarly, Jatin Das had sacrificed his life for the end of Demon (British rule) in coming years.

17th century, an annual tradition of giving pearls and silk clothes was set by Qutub Shahi ruler Abul Hasan Qutub Shah at Sri Sitharamachandra Swamy Temple at Bhadrachalam. The ruler did it when he felt guilty for imprisoning Gopanna accused of using government funds in making temple. Gopanna was released by Shah when Lord Ram and Lakshman disguised as ordinary citizen apeared to pay the gold coins used by Gopanna for temple construction. This annual tradition of giving pearls and silk clothes was further followed by Asaf Jahi dynasty and even continued after Independence. This ritual is followed till date without any interruption.
