Anti-Ragging Week Concludes with Prize Distribution Ceremony at Khalsa College, Patiala
The Anti-Ragging Cell of General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College, Patiala concluded Anti-Ragging Week 2026, observed from 12 to 18 August 2026, with a Prize Distribution Ceremony held on 18 August 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Bhai Daya Singh Block of Commerce and Management.
The ceremony celebrated the enthusiastic participation and creative contributions of students in various activities organised during the week. Prizes were presented to the winners of the Slogan Writing Competition, Poster Making Competition and Anti-Ragging Awareness Challenge.
In the Slogan Writing Competition, Havandeep Kaur (B.Com III) secured the first position, followed by Hansimran Kaur (B.Com I) in second position, Yashmeet Kaur (M.A. English II) in third position and Manvir (B.A. Political Science I) in Jury Selection Award.
In the Poster Making Competition, Simran (B.A. Fine Arts I) bagged the first position, Gurleen Kaur (M.Sc. Geography I) secured the second position, Gurmeet Kaur (B.Sc. Agriculture I) stood third, while Parmeet Kaur (B.Sc. Agriculture I) secured the Jury Selection Award.
In the Anti-Ragging Awareness Challenge, Avneet Kaur (M.A. English II) secured the first position, Manpreet Kaur (B.A. III) the second position and Navjeet Kaur (B.Sc. CSM) the third position.
Four Certificates of Appreciation were also presented to Best Volunteers of the Anti-Ragging Squad in recognition of their active participation, commitment and valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the week-long activities.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the College, appreciated the efforts of the Anti-Ragging Cell and congratulated all the winners and participants. He emphasised that maintaining a safe and respectful campus is a collective responsibility and urged students to uphold the values of dignity, empathy, mutual respect and inclusivity.
Dr. Rouble Brar, Convenor, Anti-Ragging Cell, reflected on the week-long programme and highlighted that the activities were designed not only to create awareness about ragging but also to foster positive peer relationships, emotional well-being and a culture of respect. She congratulated the students and appreciated the Anti-Ragging Squad for their active support throughout the programme.
The stage was effectively handled by Dr. Satwinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Economics, who ensured smooth coordination and active participation throughout the session. All members of the Anti-Ragging Cell were present and actively contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
The ceremony concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the collective commitment of the College community towards creating a campus where every voice is respected, every student feels safe, and ragging has no place.

Anti-Ragging Week: Extension Lecture on Safety, Respect and Emotional Well-being Held at Khalsa College, Patiala
On Day 6 of Anti-Ragging Week 2026, the Anti-Ragging Cell of General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College, Patiala organised an extension lecture on “College Compass: Navigating Towards Safety, Respect & Emotional Well-being” on 17 August 2026.
The session was conducted by Prof. Prabhjot Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, GSSDGS Khalsa College, Patiala, who sensitised students to the emotional and psychological dimensions of campus life. The lecture focused on helping students navigate college experiences with self-awareness, empathy, respect and emotional resilience, while highlighting the importance of a safe and supportive peer environment.
Prof. Prabhjot Kaur emphasised that healthy relationships among students are built on mutual respect, understanding and clear personal boundaries. She also highlighted the need to recognise emotional distress, support peers sensitively and seek appropriate help whenever required. The session connected these aspects with the larger objective of creating a safe and ragging-free campus.
Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the College, appreciated the initiative and emphasised that students’ emotional well-being is integral to their overall development. He stressed that a positive educational environment must ensure that every student feels safe, respected, heard and supported.

“Anti-Ragging: Watch and Learn” Engages Students Through an Online Documentary-Based Activity
On Day 5 of Anti-Ragging Week 2026, the Anti-Ragging Cell of General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College, Patiala, organised “Anti-Ragging: Watch and Learn”, an online documentary-based awareness activity on 16 August 2026.
The activity provided students with an opportunity to enhance their understanding of the harmful effects of ragging, its impact on students’ well-being and the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive campus environment. Participants were required to watch an Anti-Ragging documentary carefully and subsequently attempt a Google Form comprising questions based on the documentary.
The activity was designed to encourage attentive viewing and meaningful reflection on the key messages, situations, consequences and preventive measures highlighted in the documentary. The online format enabled students to participate conveniently while engaging with the important message of preventing ragging and promoting dignity and mutual respect.
Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the College, appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of sensitising students to the emotional and social consequences of ragging. He encouraged students to actively contribute towards creating a campus where every student feels safe, respected and supported.

“Ragging: Decode It!” Online Challenge Engages Students on Day 4 of Anti-Ragging Week
As part of Anti-Ragging Week 2026, the Anti-Ragging Cell of General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College, Patiala organised “Ragging: Decode It!” – An Online Anti-Ragging Awareness Challenge on 15 August 2026. The activity provided students with an interactive platform to enhance their understanding of ragging and appropriate responses to situations involving it.
The online challenge was conducted through a Google Form and comprised scenario-based questions designed to test students’ ability to identify different forms of ragging and distinguish them from healthy and respectful peer interactions. Students were required to carefully analyse the situations presented and select the most appropriate responses.
The activity encouraged students to move beyond merely knowing the definition of ragging and to develop greater awareness of subtle forms of intimidation, humiliation, coercion and inappropriate behaviour, as well as the importance of speaking up and seeking appropriate assistance.
Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the College, appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of sensitising students to recognise and prevent ragging in all its forms. He reiterated that the institution remains committed to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for every student.
Dr. Rouble Brar, Convenor, Anti-Ragging Cell, stated that the scenario-based format was designed to make anti-ragging awareness more interactive, practical and student-friendly. She encouraged students to be vigilant, respect one another’s boundaries and contribute actively towards creating a campus culture based on dignity and mutual respect.

*Counselling Session and Entrance Test for Comprehensive Competitive Learning Programme (CCLP) at Khalsa College Patiala*

As per the directions of the Directorate of Education, SGPC, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Khalsa College Patiala organised a Counselling Session & Entrance Test for the *Comprehensive Competitive Learning Programme (CCLP)* on 10 August 2026.
During the Counselling Session, the students were made aware that the Comprehensive Competitive Learning Programme (CCLP) is a foundation initiative by Tagore IAS Academy aimed at providing early exposure and systematic preparation for competitive examinations to undergraduate students.

Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college, shared that the programme focuses on developing students’ knowledge, aptitude, analytical abilities and confidence, thereby preparing them for various Government Competitive Examinations, including UPSC and State PCS examinations.

Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, Dean Placements, emphasized that this initiative provided the students with an opportunity to assess their aptitude and take an initial step towards structured preparation for competitive examinations.

With the efforts of Nodal Officers, Dr. Navdeep Kaur and Prof. Harmanpreet Singh, who proved to be the backbone, the event was successfully conducted with active participation from the students.

ਇੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਤੌਰ ਜੱਜ ਡਾ. ਹਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਹੈੱਡ , ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ) ਅਤੇ ਡਾ . ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ (ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ) ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ । ਡਾਂ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਅਸਲ ਅਰਥਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਅਤਿ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚਨਾਤਮਕਤਾ ਤੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਅਤੇ ਏਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਯੋਗਤਾ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰਨੂਰ ਕੌਰ, ਮਨਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਵੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ,ਦੂਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤਾ । ਪੋਸਟਰ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਮਲ ਵਰਮਾ, ਜਸਮੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਜੇਤੂ ਰਹੇ। ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ (ਮੁਖੀ , ਅਰਥਸ਼ਾਸ਼ਤਰ ਵਿਭਾਗ) ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਦੱਸਿਆ ।
ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਪਨ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਗਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤੀ, ਏਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿੱਦਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ।

Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competitions Mark Day 3 of Anti-Ragging Week at Khalsa College, Patiala
As part of Anti-Ragging Week 2026, the Anti-Ragging Cell of General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College, Patiala organised Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competitions on 14 August 2026. The competitions provided students with a creative platform to express their ideas and perspectives on creating a safe, respectful and ragging-free campus.
Both the Slogan Writing Competition and the Poster Making Competition were conducted on the same theme, “Respect Every Voice, Reject Ragging”, encouraging students to creatively communicate messages of respect, dignity, empathy and inclusivity. Through their participation, students highlighted the importance of standing against ragging and fostering healthy and positive peer relationships.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their creativity, originality and strong commitment to the values of mutual respect and inclusion.
Dr. Rouble Brar, Convenor, Anti-Ragging Cell, highlighted that creative activities such as these provide an effective means of sensitising students about the harmful impact of ragging while encouraging them to become active ambassadors of a respectful and inclusive campus culture.
The competitions were judged by Dr. Jiwant Kaur, Associate Professor, PG Department of History and Dr. Manvir Kaur, Head, Department of Fine Arts who evaluated the entries with regard to their creativity, originality, thematic relevance, clarity and overall impact of the message.
The Anti-Ragging Squad members were present throughout the event and actively assisted in maintaining discipline and ensuring the smooth conduct of the competitions. Dr. Satvinder Kaur, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Economics effectively handled the stage and coordinated the proceedings.
All members of the Anti-Ragging Cell were present and actively contributed to the successful organisation of the event. The competitions concluded on a positive note, with students expressing enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to creatively engage with the important message of respecting every voice and rejecting ragging in all its forms.
The event further reinforced the Anti-Ragging Cell’s commitment to building a safe, supportive, inclusive and ragging-free campus through sustained student engagement and awareness.

Buddy Meet: Breaking Barriers, Building Bonds Held at Khalsa College, Patiala
Day 2: 13.8.26
The Anti-Ragging Cell of General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College, Patiala organised an engaging interactive session, “Buddy Meet: Breaking Barriers, Building Bonds,” on 13 August 2026 as part of Anti-Ragging Week 2026. The session brought together students from senior and junior classes with the aim of fostering friendship, mutual understanding, respect and positive peer relationships.
The session was conducted by Dr. Rouble Brar, Convenor, Anti-Ragging Cell, who served as the Resource Person and led the interactive activities. The session began with “Find Your Common Ground,” where students interacted with peers they did not know well and discovered shared interests, hobbies and aspirations, helping to break initial barriers and encourage natural conversation.
The second activity, “Two Truths and a Dream,” enabled students to share interesting aspects of their personalities and aspirations while getting to know their buddies better.
The final activity, “Would You Rather?”, provided a fun and energetic way for students to discover common preferences through a series of quick choices related to books, music, food, travel, sports and lifestyle.
The students responded with great enthusiasm and warmth, participating wholeheartedly in all three activities and thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to interact, discover common interests and build new connections with their peers.
