l surroundings of nature on Badungar road. With the effort and enthusiasm of academic minded and dedicated persons ,it was established in 1960. It is a matter of pride for the college that its first Principal Dr. Ganda Singh was renowned historian and the students of the college were fortunate enough to have a Principal like Sant Singh Sekhon, an eminent scholar in Punjabi literature..Though this college is now under the supervision of SGPC Sri Amritsar,it is pertinent to point out that SGPC has always supported this college ever since its establishment. SGPC gave Sri Guru Teg Bhadur hall of Gurudwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib to Khalsa College for its use as college campus during its initial stage. In 1972, the college started at place where the building stands presently.General Shivdev Singh Divan Gurbachan Singh Trust has played a pivotal role in its establishment and smooth working. The college will always be indebted to the contributions made by pioneers of trust Late Brigadier Kushalpal Singh and Late S.Gurdarshan Singh. Late S.Surjit Singh Majithia , former President of the trust and former Deputy Defence Minister, Goverment of India paid special attention towards the betterment and needs of the college. Satiyajeet Singh Majithia ,present President of trust, the college is touching new heights. SGPC Sri Amritsar completely took over the charge of the college on 15 May , 1991 under the guidance of S. Baldev Singh Sibia, President , SGPC, Sri Amritsar. The academic atmosphere of the college became better when Principal Satbir Singh became Secretary of local managing commetteeof the college under the guidance of PanthRatan. Late Jathedar Gurharan Singh ji Tohra. Commerce faculity started in college in 1992-93 and many new subjects like Home Science,Fine Arts, Music(Vocal and Instrumental),Folk Art and Culture were started in session 1996-97 .Keeping in view the significance of knowledge of computers, in this modern age, Computer wing and Biotechnology wing were established. Punjabi started in session 2005-2006 and MSc. Maths started in 2006-2007. In 2005,NAAC visited the college and gave it B++ grade. Under the Guidance of President,Jathedar Avtar Singh ji, an ardent supporter of academic advancement, the college is touching new heights in academics as well as sports. S. Harmail Singh Tohra, former minister, Punjab Govt. is now serving the college as Additional Secretary of the college.With the inspiration of great Sikh heritage , cooperation prominent personalities of the region and the efforts of hardworking and able staff , the college is making progress in every field of education. The management has done a remarkable service to the people of the locality. Now it has touched the new heights of glory under the able guidance and leadership of Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, the Principal of the college.
