Bhattadev University observed Zubeen Divas with various programmes paying tribute to the legendary Assamese Singer and cultural icon, Zubeen Garg.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and floral tribute by the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Bhattadev University, Prof.Dhanapati Deka, Prof.Manjit Das, Registrar, followed by a solemn Shradhanjali programme in memory of Zubeen Garg. Faculty members, students and university officials paid their tribute and remembered his immense contribution to Assamese music and culture.
The University also inaugurated a portrait of Zubeen Garg as a tribute to his legacy. The unveiling marked a significant moment of remembrance for the University.The ceremony continued with various cultural activities, including singing and drawing competition, providing students an opportunity to express their admiration for Zubeen Garg through creative artworks.

Today, an informative and interactive GATE–JAM 2027 Outreach Programme was successfully organized at Bhattadev University in association with the GATE–JAM Office, IIT Guwahati
Prof. Ranjan Tamuli, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Guwahati, interacted with the students and provided valuable insights into GATE and JAM, higher-study opportunities, and pathways to premier institutions.

Total 135 students actively participated in the programme and benefited from the session.
Bhattadev University sincerely appreciates IIT Guwahati and Prof. Ranjan Tamuli for this valuable initiative aimed at creating greater awareness and academic opportunities among students.

Department of Commerce, Bhattadev University in association with Department of Commerce, Gauhati University & Pragjyotishpur Sahitya Sabha successfully organized a lecture program on “Commerce in Assamese Literature: The Relationship Between Literature and Business Management” (“অসমীয়া সাহিত্যত বাণিজ্য: বাণিজ্য ব্যৱস্থাপনাত সাহিত্যৰ সম্বন্ধ”) on 27th August, 2026.
The program was graced by Prof. Manjit Das, Registrar, Bhattadev University; Prof. Prashanta Sarma, Head of the Department, Department of Commerce, Gauhati University; Dr. Tilak Chandra Das, resource person; Dr. Bhababhuti Sarma, Founder Member, Pragjyotishpur Sahitya Sabha and Sri Prafulla Sarma, former President, Pathsala Sahitya Sabha. The session was presided over by Dr. Sabita Bhagabati, Head of the Department, Department of Commerce, Bhattadev University.

The speakers delivered insightful speeches connecting Assamese literature, culture and heritage with modern commerce, entrepreneurship and management.

Heartiest congratulations to our 7 Assam NCC Bn. cadets Bhargavjyoti Das and Niharika Das for securing Second Prize as a group in the Essay Writing Competition at the Governor of Assam Rashtriya Sewa Protsahan Yojana Programme, organised by Nalbari College in collaboration with 1 Assam Battalion NCC.
