A special Safety Awareness Session was conducted on 17th February at the Assembly Ground by a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The session aimed to educate students and staff about essential safety measures during emergencies.

🥋 Army Public School Mamun Shines at 27th J&K UT Taekwondo Championship (2024-25) 🥋

We are incredibly proud of our talented students who participated in the 27th J&K UT Taekwondo Championship held from 9th to 11th February 2025 at the Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. Our 21 enthusiastic participants gave their best performance in Kyorugi, Poomsae, and Para categories, bringing home an impressive haul of medals! 🏅

Medals Won:

Gold Medals: 07 🥇
Silver Medals: 06 🥈
Bronze Medals: 02 🥉
Additionally, two of our dedicated students, Akanksha (Class 9) and Anja Araf Manhas (Class 11), successfully completed the Kukkiwon’s 1st Dan Taekwondo Promotion Test (Black Belt) on 14th August 2024 and were awarded their Black Belt Certificates by the Sports Minister of J&K. Fire Fighting Awareness Session for Teachers at Junior Wing, APS Mamun (2024-25)
A Fire Fighting Awareness Session was conducted at Junior Wing, APS Mamun, aiming to equip teachers with essential knowledge and skills to handle fire emergencies effectively
The session was held on 8th February ,2025 recognizing the critical need for fire safety awareness in educational institutions. Schools accommodate young children, making it imperative for teachers to be well-prepared for unforeseen fire hazards. The objective was to educate staff on fire prevention, evacuation procedures, and the effective use of firefighting equipment to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.
The session was conducted by Mr. Pawan kumar under the able guidance of HM Ms. Chaitali Sharma , who provided a detailed demonstration on handling fire extinguishers, identifying fire types, and executing safe evacuation protocols. Teachers actively participated in practical drills, learning how to stay calm, guide students, and use emergency exits efficiently. The expert also emphasized do’s and don’ts during fire incidents, ensuring clarity in crisis management.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, reinforcing key takeaways. This initiative not only enhanced fire safety awareness among teachers but also strengthened the school’s emergency preparedness to safeguard young learners effectively.

*Interschool Spelling Bee Competition at Army Public School, Jr.Wing Mamun*

APS,Jr.wing Mamun hosted an exciting Interschool Spelling Bee Competition on 30.01.25, welcoming students from Gurj Pre Primary School (UKG and Class 1). The event was a resounding success, filled with enthusiasm and healthy competition. A total of 107 students participated, with 51 students representing Gapps and 56 students from APS, JR.Wing Mamun.
Young spellers showcased their skills through three challenging rounds:

* Round 3: Final - Dictation: The 9 finalists from UKG and 8 from Class 1 faced the ultimate test, accurately writing down words dictated.

The competition was judged by a distinguished panel from APS, Mamun Senior Wing: Ms. Sarita, Ms. Jyoti, Ms. Juhee and Ms. Neha. Their expertise and fair judgment ensured a smooth and credible competition.
The students participated with great enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed the friendly competition. Their dedication and hard work were evident throughout the event.

*Republic Day Celebration at Army Public School Mamun - 24th January 2025*

Army Public School Mamun celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 24th January 2025. The event began with the hoisting of the national flag by our respected Principal Mr Sandeep Kumar. Students showcased their love for the nation through a vibrant patriotic dance, soulful songs, heartfelt poems, and inspiring speeches.

Our dedicated NCC cadets displayed discipline and spirit during the march past, leaving everyone in awe. The highlight of the day was the felicitation of Taekwondo winners, where the Principal awarded medals 🏅 to the champions. The event also saw the announcement of the House Trophy winner, with Tagore House emerging as the proud recipient.

In his concluding address, our Principal motivated the students to contribute to the nation’s progress and strive to become responsible citizens. It was a memorable and inspiring celebration, reinforcing the values of patriotism and national pride.

Farewell Party for Mr. Lokesh Shukla – A Tribute to 22 Years of Dedication

On January 20th, 2025, Army Public School Mamun bid a heartfelt farewell to Mr. Lokesh Shukla, who has been an inspiring and dedicated PGT Physical Education teacher for over 22 years. The event, held in the School Auditorium, was a beautiful reflection of the profound impact Mr. Shukla has had on the lives of countless students and colleagues over the years.

Throughout his career, Mr. Shukla instilled not only physical fitness but also values of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork in his students. His commitment to the growth and development of the students, both inside and outside the classroom, has left a lasting legacy at the school.

The farewell party was filled with moments of warmth, gratitude, and nostalgia.Heartfelt speeches, memories shared, and gifts presented, all reflected the deep respect and affection Mr. Shukla earned over his distinguished tenure.
