The Agriculture Society, College of Agriculture wishes you a meaningful World Water Day! 🌊

World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, is an annual United Nations observance focusing on the importance of fresh water. It celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.1 billion people living without access to safe water. It is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. A core focus of World Water Day is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

The theme for World Water Day on March 22, 2026, is "Water and Gender," with the campaign slogan “Where water flows, equality grows”. This theme focuses on the crucial role women and girls play in managing water, while highlighting the need for their equal participation in water governance.

As quoted by Lester Brown - "We have not inherited this earth from our forefathers; we have borrowed it from our children", it is our moral and ethical duty to conserve and judiciously use water. Let's be responsible and pledge to not waste water for a sustainable and safe future! ⛰️🌊

कृषि समिति, कृषि महाविद्यालय की ओर से आप सभी को हिन्दू नववर्ष की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं।✨🌻

भारत के समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक इतिहास में नव संवत्सर का विशेष स्थान है। यह केवल एक नए वर्ष का आरंभ नहीं, बल्कि सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति, धर्म, आस्था और संस्कृति का संगम है। हिन्दू पंचांग के अनुसार, चैत्र शुक्ल प्रतिपदा से नव संवत्सर का प्रारंभ होता है। इस दिन ही ब्रह्मा जी ने सृष्टि की रचना की थी, इसलिए इसे सृष्टि का प्रथम दिन व "ब्रह्म संवत्" भी कहा जाता है। नव संवत्सर का शुभारंभ चैत्र नवरात्रि के प्रथम दिन से होता है, जो मां दुर्गा की उपासना का विशेष समय है। इस दिन घरों में मंगल कलश स्थापित किया जाता है और मां दुर्गा की पूजा-अर्चना की जाती है। साथ ही, यह ऋतु परिवर्तन का भी सूचक है, जब प्रकृति नवजीवन से भर उठती है, वृक्षों पर नए पत्ते आते हैं और वातावरण में नवीन ऊर्जा का संचार होता है।

नव संवत्सर का आधार ‘विक्रम संवत’ है, जो महाराजा विक्रमादित्य की विजयगाथा से जुड़ा हुआ है। कहा जाता है कि ईसा पूर्व 57 में उज्जयिनी के महान शासक विक्रमादित्य ने शक़ों पर विजय प्राप्त कर एक नए युग की शुरुआत की। उनकी इस विजय की स्मृति में विक्रम संवत् का आरंभ किया गया। यह भारतीय परंपरा में गौरव और विजय का प्रतीक है, जो हमें हमारे स्वर्णिम अतीत की याद दिलाता है।

भारत की सांस्कृतिक विविधता इस पर्व में अत्यंत सुंदर रूप से झलकती है। देश के विभिन्न भागों में इसे अलग-अलग नामों और परंपराओं के साथ मनाया जाता है, जैसे महाराष्ट्र में गुड़ी पड़़वा, आंध्र प्रदेश और कर्नाटक में उगादी, बंगाल में पोइला बैसाख और सिंधी समाज में चेटीचंड। नाम भले ही अलग हों, परंतु सभी में एक ही भावना निहित है - नई शुरुआत, समृद्धि और जीवन में सकारात्मक परिवर्तन का स्वागत। यही विविधता भारतीय संस्कृति की सबसे बड़ी शक्ति है, जो एकता में अनेकता का अद्भुत उदाहरण प्रस्तुत करती है।

हिन्दू नववर्ष भारतीय संस्कृति का वह जीवंत प्रतीक है, जो केवल समय के परिवर्तन का संकेत नहीं देता, बल्कि जीवन के मूल्यों, परंपराओं और आध्यात्मिक चेतना के पुनर्जागरण का संदेश भी लेकर आता है। यह नववर्ष एवं पंचांग केवल गणनात्मक नहीं, बल्कि प्रकृति, खगोल और मानव जीवन के गहरे संबंधों पर आधारित है।

कृषि समिति, कृषि महाविद्यालय की ओर से आप सभी को फुलदेई पर्व की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ!🌸🌺🌻🪷🪻🌼

उत्तराखंड का पारंपरिक फुलदेई/फूल संग्रांद (संक्रांति) वसंत ऋतु के आगमन का त्योहार है। यह पर्व हिंदू पंचांग के चैत्र माह के प्रथम दिन मनाया जाता है। इस दिन से शीत ऋतु का अंत व पहाड़ी धान की बुवाई की तैयारियां आरंभ हो जाती हैं।

यह प्रकृति के प्रति आभार व्यक्त करने का त्योहार है। इस समय पहाड़ के जंगल व खेत विभिन्न प्रकार के फूलों जैसे फ्युंली (_Reinwardtia indica_), बुरांश (_Rhododendron arboreum_), आड़ू (_Prunus persica_), खुबानी (_Prunus armeniaca_), सरसों (_Brassica sp._), मेहल (_Pyrus pashia_), सिलपाड़ी (_Bergenia ciliata_) से भर जाते हैं। त्योहार के पिछले दिन बच्चे रिंगाल (_Drepanostachyum falcatum_) की टोकरियों में इन फूलों को भर लाते हैं।
"चला फुलारी फूलों को
सौदा-सौदा फूल बिरौला
भौंरों का जूठा फूल ना तोड्यां
म्वारर्यूं का जूठा फूल ना लायाँ"
महिलाऐं अपने घरों की देहरियों को गाय के गोबर और मिट्टी से लीपकर सजातीं हैं। त्योहार के दिन बच्चे (फुलारी) फूलों से भरी टोकरियां लेकर अपने आसपास के सभी घरों व मंदिरों में जाते हैं व उनकी देहरियों पर फूल डालते हैं। फुलदेइ/फुल फुल माई/घोघा माता के गीत गाकर दक्षिणा मांगते हैं।
"फुल फुलदेई दाल चौंल दे
घोघा देवा फ्योंल्या फूल
घोघा फूलदेई की डोली सजली
गुड़ परसाद दै दूध भत्यूल"
दक्षिणा में चावल, गुड़ और पैसे घर के स्वामी द्वारा दिए जाते हैं। उत्तराखंड के कुछ इलाकों में 8 दिनों तक फूल डाले जाते हैं तब आठवें दिन दक्षिणा मिलती है। दक्षिणा में मिले चावल व गुड़ से प्रसाद/भुटखाजा बनाया जाता है जिसे बांटकर खाया जाता है।

इस त्योहार से घरों में खुशहाली, समृद्धि और धन-धान्य की सततता मांगी जाती है। फुलदेई बच्चों का त्योहार है जिसे अब बड़े भी उत्साह से मनाते हैं। उत्तराखंड सरकार ने इसे अब "बालपर्व" घोषित कर दिया है।
