The NIWS team successfully conducted the Life Saving Techniques – Watersports Operator (LST-WS) and Powerboat Handling – Tiller (PBH-T) New Courses for participants from Korba, Chhattisgarh, from 07 to 16 August 2026.

The training programme was organised by the Forest & Climate Change Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, at Korba, with the aim of promoting water safety, life saving skills and responsible adventure tourism among the communities of Korba.

A successful step towards developing skilled, confident and safety-conscious watersports professionals and strengthening adventure tourism in Chhattisgarh! 🌊💪🇮🇳

🎓 MDP FOR MINISTRY OF TOURISM OFFICIALS | SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

Ten days. 40 insightful sessions. One enriching learning journey! 🇮🇳

The 2-Week Online Management Development Programme (MDP) for officials of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, successfully concluded today at NIWS–IITTM Goa.

The programme brought together senior officers of the Ministry of Tourism GoI, the Ministry of Rural Development, academicians, industry experts, senior IAS officers, senior IITTM faculty and Padma Shri Awardee, offering participants diverse perspectives on tourism, management, leadership and contemporary challenges.

📚 40 sessions | Expert-led learning | Seminar paper presentations | Leadership-oriented capacity building

The participants shared highly positive feedback, appreciating the programme for its valuable insights and its relevance to their professional growth, future promotions and leadership responsibilities.

The valedictory session was chaired by Ms. Lalthamibigai K., Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

Special appreciation to Dr. Pawan Gupta, Nodal Officer, NIWS–IITTM Goa & Chief Coordinator and Dr. Charu Sheela Yadav and Dr. Prasantha Udaykumar, Coordinators, for their dedicated efforts in making the programme a success.

🌟 Management Development Programme (MDP) 2026 Begins at NIWS-IITTM Goa 🌟

The NIWS-IITTM Goa, proudly commenced the Two-Week Management Development Programme (MDP) 2026 for officials of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India on 4 August 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by Shri Suvashish Das, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, he encouraged participants to embrace continuous learning, exchange knowledge and strengthen their leadership and professional competencies to contribute meaningfully to the growth of India’s tourism sector.

Prof. Monika Prakash, Director (I/c), IITTM, welcomed the Chief Guest and participants, reaffirming IITTM’s commitment to excellence in tourism education, training and capacity building.

Providing an overview of the programme, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Nodal Officer, NIWS-IITTM Goa Centre, highlighted the objectives, structure and diverse learning opportunities that will equip participants with enhanced managerial and leadership skills over the two-week programme.

🇮🇳 India Set to Make History in Wakeboarding! 🌊🏄‍♂️

The NIWS proudly congratulates Mr. Lalit, an NIWS Certified License Holder, on being selected to represent Team India at the IWWF Cable Wakeboard World Championships 2026, to be held in Beijing, China, from 8–15 August 2026.

For the first time in history, India will field a team at this prestigious world championship—marking a significant milestone for Indian wakeboarding. Alongside Lalit, the Indian contingent includes Mr. Sahi Harkeerat, Mr. Sheneva Shreyas and Mr. Lalsodagar Vinay, under the guidance of Coach Mr. Rajpal Singh.

This remarkable achievement reflects years of dedication, perseverance and the steady growth of wakeboarding in India. It also highlights the vital contribution of Goa’s 101 Wake Park, India’s only dedicated cable wakeboarding park, in nurturing athletes of international calibre.

NIWS extends its best wishes to Mr. Lalit and the entire Indian team as they proudly carry the nation’s flag onto the world stage. Their journey from Goa to Beijing is not only a historic first but also an inspiration for the next generation of watersports athletes in India.
