Ms. Suruchi was a part of the Firstep family from 2011 to 2025—a journey defined by dedication, warmth, and quiet strength. Over the past year, her body endured a difficult passage, and on 3rd January 2026, her soul found rest.

She was one of our own—a strong pillar of Firstep, a forever-smiling presence through both good and difficult times, and a constant source of encouragement to everyone around her. Her loss at such a young age leaves a silence that words cannot fill. Though her physical form has departed, her spirit continues to dwell among us, in laughter remembered and kindness given. Some educators leave an impact not only through what they teach, but through who they are. Ms. Suruchi was one such educator, touching the lives of countless children and parents over her years at Firstep.

As we bid goodbye to her, we request you to keep her in your prayers and hold her gently in your memories, for that is all she ever wished for.

A new year begins — not with haste, but with hope.

With little hands growing steadier, curious minds becoming more inquisitive, and young hearts learning kindness every day. At Firstep, we step into 2026 believing that childhood is not a race to be won, but a journey to be honoured. One child. One rhythm. One meaningful step at a time.

At Firstep Montessori School, even our smallest humans know how to tie each other’s shoelaces. Because here, helping a friend is a life skill, not someone else’s job.

Meanwhile, somewhere far far away…a gardener is tying 6-year-old’s shoelaces. Cute? Yes. But let’s be honest — that’s not kindness, that’s dependency.

Our children learn capability, empathy, and equality. Not servitude. Not hierarchy. Not “someone will do it for you because they’re older/poorer/paid”.

In Montessori, we don’t raise kids to look for helpers. We raise them to be helpers.

A Sweet Learning Experience

Our primary children explored Chandigarh’s truly unique European-style bean-to-bar chocolate paradise — Mozimo!

From touring the industrial kitchen to watching modern equipment and real-time chocolate-making processes, the visit was fun, educative, and full of wonder. Who knows… maybe today’s curiosity is the first spark in the making of tomorrow’s talented chefs and chocolatiers.

Crafting Joys: A Morning of Creativity and Connection

Last Saturday winter morning, our Head Branch at Sector 7 came alive with laughter, color, and creativity as we hosted Crafting Joys — a special parent-toddler event. Parents and their little ones teamed up to create and decorate paper handbags, explore textures through clay play, and let their imagination flow freely on open easels. From splashes of color to gleeful smiles, every corner told a story of little discoveries and shared delight.

Where curosity leads, little hands explore, and learning comes alive!

Back to School – Yoga Morning

It was a beautiful Yoga morning at our MDC campus as volunteer parents from Montessori I joined us for our Back to School initiative. Together, they introduced our little toddlers to simple and fun yoga poses and āsanas. The session was filled with laughter, joy, and mindful movement — creating a cheerful and refreshing environment for everyone.

At Firstep, we believe in nurturing a strong parent–school bond. Initiatives like these keep parents connected, engaged, and actively involved in their child’s early learning journey.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers for making this morning truly special for our little ones.

At Firstep Montessori School, we believe Montessori is not just a method — it’s a way of nurturing independence, curiosity, and growth.

Through Experience Montessori Live, our parents stepped into their children’s world, working with the same materials and exploring the same environment that their little ones do every day.

As Montessori is an alternative educational methodology, it is our conscious endeavour to keep parents closely connected with its philosophy through such initiatives.
