Recently I had the incredible opportunity to visit the legendary Bishop Cotton School, and it was nothing short of a dream come true!

Exploring the historic halls and vibrant campus with Mr. Harpreet Singh was a truly enriching experience. The legacy of this institution is unparalleled, and it was an honor to step foot on its hallowed grounds.

I had the pleasure of interacting with the esteemed Headmaster, Mr. John, whose vision and leadership have undoubtedly contributed to the school's continued excellence. 🎓

Dear Parents

It is that time of the year when all around you see is Results and results being announced. And as a consequence, we see people flaunting their Child’s report card all over the social media (good for them).

At the same time, may be your ward did not perform up to the
mark (Who decides that though?). Well, what now?
Is it the end of the road for them?
Will your child not amount to anything in life now?
Has he missed the train to become the Next Sundar Pichai?

The Answer is “NO”.
Marks are a Pre-requisite (read a minimum criteria) for clearing into a certain course, College or a University- Beyond that they don’t mean anything (of course after that initial hoopla surrounding results has died down)

Let me ask you a question- HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR REPORT CARD AFTER GRADUATING AND SETTLING INTO A CAREER?

We all have seen (and appreciated, and continue to do that even to this day) the movie 3 Idiots, and were moved when Pariksh*t Sahni allows Madhavan to take up Photography as a career. He not only became successful but was also enjoying his life (and career).
Emotional Na!!
But are you ready to allow your child that liberty?

“Well, but that is just a movie!!” – did anyone say that?
The answer is: Movies are a reflection of our Life only. They might be brain child of creative minds but ultimately show the realities of LIFE.

So, don’t pressurise your wards by comparing their marks to someone ( bagal wale Gupta ji/Sharma Ji ka beta). My experience says, a child becomes what he/she is meant to become in life. The path might be different to others (and may be not to society’s liking) but What matters more is the Destination and What YOUR CHILD BECOMES IN THE PROCESS?

Let us all raise children that become HUMAN in future and not computers (that score 99.99% or more marks).
If you could do good with 70% marks in your 10th, 10+2 and beyond; your child sure can make it big in life scoring 70% marks. Remember in today’s world much more opportunities are available as compared to what you had, when you were growing up or starting in life.

And to Students: Don’t sink into depression (or commit mistakes from where you can’t return) just for marks. May be you are not meant for Physics or Maths. Find your passion and excel at it.
Don’t live your life living other’s (not even your parents’) dream.
DREAM YOURSELF AND THEN WORK HARD TO ACHIEVE THEM.
