One may be wondering what is Waldorf Education and how does it differ from mainstream Education? Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), an Austrian initiate and universal genius, introduced Waldorf Education, on the basis of Anthroposophy, the wisdom of human beings, in the year 1919 in Stuttgart, Germany. This three-fold approach stimulates thinking, called "Head Forces", through Academic subjects; The feel
ing, called "Heart Forces", through subjects of art and nature observation; and the "Will Activity" "Limb Forces", is represented by subjects like handicrafts, gardening and other practical work. The structured curriculum, which meets the needs of the different stages of children's development, enhances their minds, so that they may blossom into responsible world citizens, with values like compassion and love for truth. Professors who have taught Waldorf Students across many academic disciplines and across a wide range of campuses -from State Universities to Ivy League-note that Waldorf Graduates have the ability to integrate thinking; to assimilate information as opposed to memorising isolated facts; to be flexible, creative and willing to take intellectual risks; and are leaders with high ethical and moral standards who take initiative and are passionate to reach their goals. We @ Zenora have taken the sublime initiative in Kerala for students to benefit from the Waldorf Model.
