The two-week Green Bharat Impact Challenge concluded with a valedictory ceremony at GGDSD College, Palampur, on 14/05/2026. The 14-day environmental awareness programme witnessed
enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
Around 36 students actively participated in various eco-friendly activities conducted during the programme. The activities included plantation drives, waste management campaigns, energy conservation initiatives, water conservation awareness and cleanliness drives aimed at promoting environmental responsibility among students.
During the valedictory session, certificates were distributed to all participants in recognition of their valuable contribution towards creating a sustainable and eco-friendly campus environment. Addressing the gathering, Director-cum-Principal, Dr. Vivek Sharma lauded the dedication and enthusiasm shown by the students throughout the 14-days challenge. He stated that educational institutions play a vital role in building environmental awareness among the youth and emphasized the need for collective action towards protecting natural resources. He also encouraged students to adopt sustainable habits in their daily lives and continue contributing towards a cleaner, greener and healthier society.
During the programme, Nodal Officer, Dr. Usha Sharma, programme coordinators, Mr. Aneesh and Ms. Isha along with other faculty members were also present. The college has also been recognized with the Green Campus Award for its continuous efforts towards environmental conservation and sustainable campus practices.

College under its Institution Innovation Council (IIC), organized a special lecture as part of “AI for Atmanirbhar Bharat: HEI Pre-Summit Engagements Towards India AI Impact Summit 2026.”The event was held under the guidance of the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).Mr. Aditya Sharma, Senior Software Engineer (SDE-II) at We Create Problems company, was the keynote speaker. He delivered an insightful talk on “How Students Can Learn Artificial Intelligence: A Guide to Learning Paths and Essential Tools.” He explained how students can effectively use various AI tools to simplify their studies and project work, while also highlighting career opportunities and future prospects in the AI domain. On this occasion, Dr. Vivek Sharma, College Director cm Principal emphasized that such activities organized under IIC play a vital role in skill development and career building for students. The Gender Sensitisation Cell of the college under the guidance of Dr Jyoti,AP in Commerce &Coordinator Gender Sensitisation Cell successfully organized a Nukkad Natak on Gender Equality titled “Soch Ke Parde, Haq Ki Awaaz” today in college campus. The program was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about gender equality, challenging deep-rooted stereotypes, and promoting mutual respect and inclusivity in society.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members .Through nukkad natak the students effectively highlighted prevailing gender biases, social conditioning, and the unequal expectations imposed on individuals based on gender. The theme of the Nukkad Natak strongly conveyed the message that talents, aspirations, and rights are not determined by gender, but by individual potential. The performance successfully engaged the audience and encouraged critical reflection on social norms and personal attitudes.

A one-day Educational Trip was organized for the students of B.Sc. 2nd Year and 3rd Year (Medical) as part of their curriculum-based experiential learning .
The students visited the Herbal Garden and Harbarium at Jogindernagar, where they gained insights into the identification, preservation, and academic importance of medicinal plants. They also explored the Sericulture Research & Extension Centre, Chauntra, which provided them with practical knowledge of silkworm rearing, cocoon production, and the role of sericulture in rural livelihoods. The trip was aimed at enhancing students understanding of applied aspects of Botany and Zoology, bridging classroom learning with field-based experiences.The students were accompanied and guided by Ms. Isha Chawla, Assistant Professor in Botany, and Mr. Aneesh Kumar, Assistant Professor in Zoology, who provided valuable academic inputs during the visit.

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Goswami Ganesh Dutt Sanatan Dharma College, Rajpur, in collaboration with GNIOT Institute of Management Studies (GIMS), organized a one-day workshop on the theme “Pros and Cons of AI and Building Self-Confidence.”The keynote speaker and resource person was Mr. Brijesh Bhatia, Lead Strategy – Corporate Learning & Outreach Catalyst. He elaborated on the advantages and challenges of Artificial Intelligence, its impact on career opportunities, and practical methods to boost self-confidence. Highlighting the demands of the modern era, he encouraged students to stay updated with emerging technologies. The workshop also introduced useful techniques for solving competitive exam questions quickly and included group activities designed to enhance confidence. Mr. Bhatia motivated students to become skill-proficient, to strengthen their learning, and to develop an impressive personality. He emphasized that while technology should be used wisely, it is equally important to nurture one’s own intelligence. Dr. Vivek Sharma, Director cm Principal of the college, underlined the importance of such workshops, stating that the aim is to equip students with future-ready skills, and assured that similar programs will continue for their benefit. To commemorate the birth anniversary of the Great Tribal Freedom Fighter Dharti Abha Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the NSS unit of the college under supervision of Mr Arvind Kumar ,Program Officer NSS organized a program today . The event was held as part of the Nationwide observance of Jan Jatiya Gaurav Varsh.Competitions of Poster Making and story telling was organised on the occasion. Students expressed their creativity and paid tribute to Birsa Munda’s legacy through visuals.
and narrated inspiring stories highlighting the courage, struggles, and contributions of tribal people and Birsa Munda’s role in India’s freedom movement. National Education Day was celebrated in college under the banner of Institution Innovation cell of the college. On the occasion, a lecture was organized on the Changing Perspective of Education. The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Navneet Sharma, Assistant Professor from the Department of Education, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala. He shared his insights with students on the historical and contemporary context of education. He elaborated on the evolution of education, stating that education is not merely the acquisition of knowledge but a means of refining oneself and recognizing one’s potential. Encouraging students to ask questions, he emphasized that questions give rise to challenges and new possibilities. He emphasised that education is the foundation of personality development and nation-building, Quiz Competition and Essay Writing Competition is also organised on the occasion with enthusiastic participation of the students from all faculties. Dr Vivek Sharma, Director cm Principal facilitated Dr Navneet Kumar on behalf of college.The Programme was well attended by All the members of the IIC, faculty members and students from Faculty of Science and Arts.

As part of SEBI’s SMARTs Investor Awareness Initiative, an Investor Awareness Program was organized at the college to enhance financial literacy and deepen understanding of commodity derivatives and financial markets among students and faculty members. The event was conducted under the aegis of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of the college, in collaboration with the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), and supported by SEBI’s Investor Protection Fund (IPF).
Mr. Omkar Mishra, a SEBI-empanelled SMARTs trainer, served as the keynote speaker for the session. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students of the Department of Commerce. The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging and posing insightful questions about the functioning of the stock market.
The attendees included Mr. Arvind Kumar, Vice President of IIC; Mr Yashvinder Singh, Coordinator, Department of Commerce,Mr Aneesh Kumar,AP in Zoology and Mr. Sandeep Gopal, Head of IT, along with numerous students who contributed to the vibrant and inquisitive atmosphere of the event.

Students of college delivered an outstanding performance at “Tech Utsav–2025” organized by Shri Sai University, Palampur. The event, held under the aegis of Sai School of Engineering and Technology and Sai Business School (Management and Computer Applications), featured competitions such as Bug Bounty, Live Project, Blind Coding, Quiz, Poster Presentation, Rangoli, Debate, and Poetry Recitation.
- In the Rangoli competition, first place was secured by Surbhi Sharma, Shivangi Chauhan, Khushboo Bhatia, and Komal Sharma (B.Sc. Medical, Second Year).
- In the Quiz competition, Nayan R. Khawla and Priya Dogra (B.Sc. Non-Medical, Third Year) won first place.In the Poster Presentation competition, Amisha Sandal (B.Sc. Non-Medical, Third Year) won first place, while Mehak Sharma (B.Com, Third Year) secured second place.Director cm Principal, Dr. Vivek Sharma, Mr Arvind Kumar ,Coordinator Cultural Cell and Faculty members congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue working with the same enthusiasm ,spirit and dedication.
