The Rotaract Club of GGDSD College, Rajpur, in association with Mela Mal Sood Rotary Eye Hospital, Maranda, organised a Free Eye Check-up Camp on 10 October 2026 at the college campus.The initiative aimed to promote eye health awareness and provide accessible eye-care services to students and members of the local community. The camp witnessed the participation of approximately 160 students, Faculty members and few senior citizens of the Village who were specially invited under Community outreach endeavours .
The initiative provided an opportunity for participants to pay attention to their eye health and seek professional guidance regarding vision care.

The successful organisation of the camp reflected the Rotaract Club’s commitment to health awareness, student welfare, and community service. The collaboration with Mela Mal Sood Rotary Eye Hospital, Maranda, helped bring this healthcare initiative to the college campus and the surrounding community.

On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, members of the Rotaract Club, GGDSD College, Rajpur visited Apna Ghar Old Age Home run by the Palampur Rotary Helpage Foundation at Saliana.During the visit, the students actively interacted with the senior citizens, listened to their life experiences, and spent meaningful time with them. As a gesture of love, care, and respect, the members distributed fruits among the residents. The interaction offered students a valuable opportunity to understand and appreciate the wisdom, experiences, and perspectives of the elderly.The visit proved to be a meaningful and enriching initiative, fostering the values of empathy, compassion, social responsibility, and community service among the students.Dr. Vivek Sharma, Director-cum-Principal, GGDSD College, Rajpur, lauded the efforts of the Rotaract Club members and encouraged students to undertake more community outreach activities. The Rotaract Club of GGDSD College Rajpur organized a fruit tree plantation drive at Shakti Sadan, Sungal, A Home for Destitute Women being run by The Palampur Rotary Helpage Foundation Saliana.
The program was presided over by Dr. Ashwani Kumar , Chairman, Rotary Helpage Foundation.
In his address, Dr. Ashwani Kumar emphasized that plantation is not only a means of environmental conservation but also a responsibility towards future generations. He highlighted that fruit trees contribute to a cleaner environment while providing valuable resources for society in the years to come. He urged the youth to pledge not only to plant trees but also to protect and nurture them.
Applauding the Initiative of GGDSD College, and Rotaract Club, he remarked that such community-driven efforts play a vital role in bringing positive change to society. Dr. Vivek Sharma Director cm Principal of the college praised the initiative of the Rotaract club of GGDSD College and NSS Wing of the college for this community outreach programme . GGDSD College Rajpur organised a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with Bhart Cares and CSR Box under IBM Skill Build initiative. Ms. Ritu Thakur, Associate Manager CSR, IBM CSR Box, was the Resource Person for the occasion. Dr. Vivek Sharma, Director-cum-Principal of the College, welcomed Ms. Thakur and expressed gratitude to her organisation for arranging the FDP. In his address, Dr. Vivek Sharma exhorted the faculty members to equip themselves with the latest technological tools and integrate them effectively in classrooms. He emphasized that while Artificial Intelligence cannot overshadow human intelligence, its use must be guided by clarity of purpose knowing why, where, and when to apply such technology.Delivering her lecture, Ms. Ritu Thakur explained the distinction between Artificial Intelligence and Human Intelligence, addressing common misconceptions and myths about AI. She trained faculty members on effective prompt-giving techniques for AI tools and elaborated on various AI-driven platforms such as Brisk Teaching, Jotform AI, Eduaide, and TensorFlow, which can enhance teaching-learning processes and make them more interactive.Faculty members from the Departments of Physical Sciences, Bio Sciences, Business Administration, and Computer Applications actively participated in the programme. Dr. Maneshwar Thakur, Assistant Professor in Physics and President of the College Innovation Council, introduced the programme, while Mr. Anurag Sharma, Coordinator of Business Administration and Coordinator Training & Placement Cell, proposed the vote of thanks.

जीजीडीएसडी कॉलेज राजपुर में हिंदी दिवस सप्ताह का समापन 14 सितंबर को चित्र प्रतियोगिता के साथ हुआ ।हिंदी दिवस सप्ताह के अंतर्गत विद्यार्थियों के लिए विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन किया गया, जिनमें निबंध लेखन, मुहावरा, विलोम शब्द, देवनागरी लिपि, पर्यायवाची शब्द लेखन, नारा लेखन एवं चित्र प्रतियोगिता आदि शामिल रहे। सभी प्रतियोगिताओं में विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक बढ़-चढ़कर भाग लिया।सभी प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन सांस्कृतिक प्रकोष्ठ के समन्वयक श्री अरविंद कुमार, हिंदी की सहायक प्राध्यापक डॉ. शिल्पी और सुश्री आमना के मार्गदर्शन में किया गया।निदेशक एवं प्रधानाचार्य डॉ. विवेक शर्मा ने सभी प्रतियोगिताओं के विजेताओं को बधाई दी और आशा व्यक्त की कि भविष्य में भी इस प्रकार की प्रतियोगिताएं आयोजित की जाएंगी।

Students of Bio Sciences Department of GGDSD College, Rajpur successfully completed a five-day training programme on Mushroom Cultivation organised at the Mushroom Development Centre of Department of Horticulture Govt of Himachal Pradesh . The training, held from September 7 to 11, 2026, provided students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge, practical exposure and entrepreneurial guidance in mushroom cultivation. Experts covered the cultivation of White Button, Oyster (Dhingri), Milky and Shiitake mushrooms, along with substrate and compost preparation, spawning, casing, cultivation-room management, disease control and spawn production. Students also received practical exposure to modern mushroom cultivation infrastructure and machinery, including autoclaves, incubation rooms, cool rooms, laminar air-flow systems and other laboratory facilities. Sessions on mushroom farm construction, loans and investment, vermicomposting, drying and dehydration, value addition and marketing further broadened their understanding of mushroom cultivation as a viable agri-business. A Mushroom Mela and Exhibition provided an opportunity for students to interact with mushroom growers and observe different mushroom varieties and value-added products. On the concluding day, Dr. Vivek Sharma, Director cm Principal of the college was the chief Guest , distributed certificates to the successful participants. The Director-cum-Principal congratulated the students and highlighted the importance of acquiring entrepreneurship skills through such free, locally accessible training programmes. He encouraged students to consider mushroom and Shiitake cultivation as a profitable small-scale business opportunity, noting its potential to generate income and promote rural entrepreneurship. The programme was attended by Dr. Hitender Patial, Subject Matter Specialist; Dr. Hitesh Thakur, HDO; Dr. Rajesh Patial, HDO; Ms. Isha Chawla; Mr. Aneesh Kumar ; and Mr. Anurag Sharma, Assistant Professor, from GGDSD College, among others. The training successfully equipped students with practical skills and knowledge to explore mushroom cultivation as a sustainable agricultural and entrepreneurial venture.

गोस्वामी गणेश दत्त सनातन धर्म महाविद्यालय में हिंदी दिवस सप्ताह का शुभारंभ भारतेंदु हरिश्चंद्र जयंती के अवसर पर किया गया। कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ महाविद्यालय के निदेशक एवं प्रधानाचार्य डॉ. विवेक शर्मा ने किया।इस अवसर पर महाविद्यालय के निदेशक एवं प्रधानाचार्य ने विद्यार्थियों को भारतेंदु हरिश्चंद्र की जयंती के अवसर पर हिंदी दिवस सप्ताह के शुभारंभ के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों से हिंदी के प्रचार-प्रसार और विकास में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने भविष्य में भी हिंदी भाषा, साहित्य, इतिहास और संस्कृति से जुड़े विभिन्न कार्यक्रम आयोजित करने के लिए हिंदी विभाग एवं विद्यार्थियों को प्रोत्साहित किया। कार्यक्रम में हिंदी विभाग के विद्यार्थियों ने भारतेंदु हरिश्चंद्र के जीवन एवं व्यक्तित्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए हिंदी साहित्य के क्षेत्र में उनके महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान एवं उपलब्धियों का परिचय दिया व हिंदी साहित्य में उनके अतुलनीय योगदान को रेखांकित किया। इस अवसर पर हिंदी विभाग की सहायक प्राध्यापक डॉ. शिल्पी एवं सुश्री अमना ने विद्यार्थियों को 14 सितंबर तक महाविद्यालय में आयोजित होने वाली विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं एवं साहित्यिक गतिविधियों की जानकारी दी तथा उन्हें इनमें बढ़-चढ़कर भाग लेने के लिए प्रेरित किया। कार्यक्रम में महाविद्यालय के इतिहास विभाग के विभागाध्यक्ष श्री सुमन कुमार संस्कृत विभाग के विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ. ध्रुव देव शर्मा, संस्कृत प्रकोष्ठ के समन्वयक श्री अरविंद कुमार, वाणिज्य विभाग के सहायक प्राध्यापक श्री अश्वनी कुमार, बीसीए विभाग की सहायक प्राध्यापिका सुश्री हरमीत कौर तथा राजनीति विज्ञान विभाग की सहायक प्राध्यापिका सुश्री सीमा भाटिया भी उपस्थित रहे।

On the occasion of the 45th Death Anniversary of Amar Shaheed Lala Jagat Narayan Founder of Punjab Kesri Group of News Paper , a Blood Donation Camp was organized at GGDSD College, Rajpur, Palampur, where an impressive 54 units of blood were donated, This noble initiative was made possible with the support of Himotkarsh Parishad, Palampur , Om Manglam Sanstha, Rajpur ,Rotary Club, Palampur, Punjab Kesari Group , Rotaract Club of GGDSD College Rajpur. The event was graced by the presence of Padma Shri Dr. Omesh Bharti, Chief Medical Officer, Kangra, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Bharti himself donated blood during the camp, setting a powerful example of service and compassion.
