🌍 World Environment Day 2026 Celebration 🌱

World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm to create awareness about environmental protection and climate action.

The programme began with a pledge and an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of conserving nature. Various competitions such as essay writing, poster making, and slogan writing were organized to encourage students to express their ideas on environmental conservation.
A sensitization programme on four-stream waste segregation, as per the Solid Waste Management Rules, was conducted to educate students about proper waste management practices.
Students actively participated in a rally, plantation drive, cleanliness drive, and environmental quiz. These activities helped promote responsible environmental behaviour and strengthened the message of sustainable living.
The celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognizing the efforts and achievements of the participants.

Today, a Health Check-up and Awareness Program was conducted successfully in school by the Health & Wellness Centre (HWC), Pakyong. The medical team, including doctors and nurses, carried out general health examinations of the students such as height, weight, eyesight, dental care, cleanliness, and overall physical health assessment.
The programme also included awareness sessions on personal hygiene, nutritious food habits, mental well-being, cleanliness, and prevention of common illnesses. Special counselling on menstrual hygiene was provided to girl students to promote awareness, confidence, and healthy practices during adolescence.
The programme helped students understand the importance of maintaining good health, regular hygiene practices, balanced diet, and healthy lifestyles.
School sincerely thanks the HWC Pakyong team for their valuable service and support towards the well-being of the students.

Potatoes were harvested from the greenhouse vegetable garden of Dugalakha JHS today. The harvesting was done with the participation of students as a part of school gardening activity.
The freshly harvested potatoes were also used in the mid-day meal, and the students enjoyed a delicious lunch of puri and aloo dum, promoting the concept of “Farm to Table.”
This activity helped students learn about agriculture, nutrition, and practical learning through school gardening.
