Daring Lingzey Primary School, Namcheybong Block, Pakyong District

Under the Environment Education Programme, the Eco Club of Daring Lingzey Primary School conducted a creative and hands-on activity on “Making Raincoats from Waste Plastic.”🍀🌱🌿

Under the guidance of the teachers, students learned how to reuse waste plastic materials to make simple and useful raincoats. The activity helped students understand the importance of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3Rs) and encouraged them to think creatively about managing plastic waste.

The activity was an enjoyable learning experience that promoted environmental awareness, creativity, teamwork and responsible use of resources among the students. 🌿♻️

As part of the Environment Education Programme under the School Eco Club🌿🍀🌱 various environment-friendly activities were conducted at Daring Lingzey Primary School to develop awareness and responsible habits among students.

Students were guided on the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling plastic waste. They actively participated in collecting and reusing waste plastic bottles to make decorative flower pots, planters and other useful art and craft items. The activity encouraged creativity while teaching students the importance of proper waste management and keeping their surroundings clean.

The school also promoted organic farming and kitchen gardening with the active support of the school staff, parents and School Management Committee (SMC) members. Students participated in preparing the garden beds, planting vegetables and caring for the school kitchen garden. The activity provided practical learning about organic cultivation, healthy food, biodiversity and environmental conservation.

These activities helped students understand that small, responsible actions can contribute towards a cleaner, greener and healthier environment. The programme also strengthened the participation of the school community in promoting sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

Thithi Bhoj was organised at Daring Lingzey Primary School with the kind sponsorship of Mrs. Luci Meeta Rai, (PRT).The programme was organised to provide a nutritious and wholesome meal to the students and staff of the school.
The meal included Dal, Chicken,fish Rice, Salad, Papad and Sweet Dish. The food was prepared and served to the students and staff in a warm and joyful atmosphere.

Under Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 Date:11th September 2026
Daring Lingzey Primary School Namcheybong Block Pakyong District.

As part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026, Personal Hygiene Day was observed at Daring Lingzey Primary School on 11th September 2026.

The students were taught the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene and cleanliness in their daily lives. Simple and practical activities were demonstrated, including trimming and cleaning nails, polishing shoes, combing and maintaining neat hair, washing hands properly, and keeping their school uniform clean and tidy.

The activity was conducted in a simple and child-friendly manner so that students could easily understand and practise these habits every day. The programme aimed to develop cleanliness, self-care, discipline, and healthy habits among the students.

The students participated actively and enjoyed learning these useful personal hygiene practices. The programme was successful and beneficial in creating awareness about the importance of personal cleanliness and overall well-being.

Natural Disaster Awareness
Students are taught about the risks of earthquakes, landslides, and heavy rains common in hilly areas through Posters in the assemblies to spread awareness and ensure the safety of all students our school during emergencies and natural disasters

Pre-Teej celebration was organised at Daring Lingzey Primary School, sponsored and hosted by the school's women staff members. The occasion brought together the entire school community, with a special festive lunch prepared for the students and staff. The menu featured traditional delicacies including Dhakne (roasted rice grits), Selroti, Aloo Dum, Achaar and kheer along with other seasonal accompaniments. All the students and staff members were present and took part in the festivities, enjoying the meal together in a warm and joyful atmosphere.
The celebration reflected the spirit of togetherness among the staff and students, with teachers dressed in traditional red attire for the occasion. Students, seated together and happily shared their plates of Dhakne, curry, and Selroti, making the day a memorable one for the entire school.
