Report on Awareness Programme on Adolescence, Substance Abuse, and Emotional Management
An awareness programme focusing on adolescence, substance abuse, and the management of emotions to prevent anxiety and depression was successfully conducted on Saturday, 18th April 2026, at Government Secondary School Padamchey, District, Pakyong.
The programme was graced by Dr. Kuljan Lama, MOI, AYUSH, District Hospital Pakyong, who served as the guest speaker and key resource person. His insightful session provided valuable guidance to students on the physical, emotional, and psychological changes during adolescence. He also highlighted the harmful effects of substance abuse and emphasized the importance of making informed and responsible life choices.

A significant part of the session was dedicated to emotional well-being. Dr. Lama elaborated on the importance of understanding and managing one’s feelings, coping with stress, and adopting healthy practices to prevent anxiety and depression. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to ask questions and share their concerns, making the programme highly engaging and impactful
All students from classes VI to X actively participated in the programme. The presence of all staff members further enriched the session, reflecting the collective commitment of the school towards student well-being.
This initiative was organized as part of the Health and Wellness Programme, Nasha Mukt Campaign, and PRAHARI Club activities. The programme was effectively coordinated by the Health and Wellness Ambassador, Mrs. Lashmi Doma Bhutia, whose dedicated efforts ensured its smooth ex*****on.
