After a detailed assessment of the evolving macroeconomic and financial conditions, developments, and and the outlook, the MPC voted unanimously to increase the policy repo rate under the lab by 25 basis points to 5.5 percent. Consequently, the STF rate stands adjusted to 5.25 percent, and the marginal standing facility rate and the bank rate to 5.75 percent. The MPC also decided to change the stance to calibrated tightening by a majority of 4-2: Governor Sanjay Malhotra

1 अक्टूबर 2026 को संघ लोक सेवा आयोग (UPSC) के सौ साल पूरे हुए हैं।
इसकी संस्थागत यात्रा 1 अक्टूबर 1926 को शुरू हुई थी, जब भारत का पहला लोक सेवा आयोग बनाया गया था - यह एक सलाहकार संस्था थी जिसके चेयरमैन और सदस्यों की नियुक्ति लंदन में सेक्रेटरी ऑफ स्टेट करते थे।
इसके बाद की सदी में, आयोग के ढांचे, दर्जे और ज़िम्मेदारियों में बदलाव आए और यह आज एक स्वतंत्र संवैधानिक संस्था बन गया है।..m

On October 1, 2026, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will complete a century. Its institutional journey began on October 1, 1926, when India’s first Public Service Commission was established—it was an advisory body whose chairman and members were appointed by the Secretary of State in London.

💠In the century that followed, changes occurred in the Commission’s structure, status, and responsibilities, and today it has become an independent constitutional body.

💠For a hundred years, this Commission has been fulfilling one of the country’s most crucial responsibilities: recognizing merit, maintaining impartiality, and ensuring that opportunities are not limited merely to privilege, place, language, or circumstances.

💠A century ago, the fight was for the right of Indians to compete. Today, the task is to ensure that this right actually reaches every capable Indian who wants to serve the country.
