HGT Rally:

On 14 August 2025, all faculty members, staff, and students gathered with great enthusiasm to participate in the “Har Ghar Tiranga Rally.” The rally commenced from the Chanakya Administrative Block and proceeded towards the Open Air Gym, celebrating the spirit of patriotism and the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Carrying the national flag with pride, the participants marched together and raised patriotic slogans such as “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” Prof. Siby John, our Hon’ble Director, also participated in the rally along with all officers, faculty members, staff, and students. The event reflected a strong sense of national pride, unity, and respect for the Tricolour. The program concluded with the National Anthem, marking a memorable and patriotic celebration.

A documentary film on the theme of India before and after Independence was screened on 13.08.2026 at 4:30 pm, as part of the Independence Day celebration activities. The documentary highlighted the historical journey of the nation, presenting key aspects of the pre-Independence and post-Independence periods and reflecting on India's transformation over the years. The documentary was created by Mr. Sonaba Mandal and Mr. Mrimoy Paul. Their efforts in presenting the historical journey of the nation through an engaging visual medium were highly appreciated.

Swcchata Program:
In continuation of the earlier events, a Swachhata Programme was organized on 12.08.2026 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM by the NCC students of our institute. As part of the programme, the premises of all the academic blocks were cleaned by collecting and removing plastic waste and other garbage from in and around the academic blocks. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness, and a sense of responsibility among the students. The event was coordinated by Dr. Sourav Chakraborty. The active participation of the NCC students made the programme successful and contributed to maintaining a clean and hygienic campus.

Tiranga Parade:
As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, the next event, a “Tiranga Parade”, was organized by the NCC Team of GKCIET on 11 August 2026 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM in front of the Academic Blocks of GKCIET, Malda. All B.Tech. and Diploma students were informed about the parade through an email invitation and were encouraged to participate in and witness the event. The event was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Director, Prof. Siby John. All the Heads of Departments (HoDs), faculty members, staff, and students of the institute gathered to witness the parade and express their respect for the National Flag. The NCC cadets marched in a disciplined and dignified manner in honour of the Tiranga, while spectators carrying the National Flag enthusiastically cheered and encouraged the participants. Adding to the patriotic spirit of the occasion, members of the Music Club, GKCIET engaged the gathering through soulful performances of patriotic songs. The musical performances created an atmosphere of unity, pride, and national spirit among the members of the institute community. The Hon’ble Director, Prof. Siby John, addressed the gathering with an inspiring and motivational speech on the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign. In his address, he emphasized the significance of the Tiranga as a symbol of national pride, unity, and collective responsibility, and encouraged everyone to actively participate in the campaign and uphold the values represented by the National Flag. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, with all participants standing in solemn respect and honour of the nation. The parade served as a meaningful expression of patriotism, discipline, unity, and collective participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.

Quiz Competition:

As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, a Quiz Competition was organized to enhance students’ awareness of the National Flag, its significance, and the spirit of patriotism associated with the campaign. Students from various departments of GKCIET participated enthusiastically in the event. The quiz was conducted in two rounds: Preliminary and Final. In the Preliminary Round, seven teams participated in a screening test comprising multiple-choice questions related to Har Ghar Tiranga. Based on their performance in the preliminary round, three teams were eliminated, and the remaining four teams qualified for the Final Round. The Final Round was conducted among the four shortlisted teams. The winner and runner-up teams were declared based on their overall performance in the quiz competition. The event not only encouraged healthy competition among students but also enhanced their knowledge and awareness of the significance of the Tiranga and the values of national unity and patriotism. The event was organized by Dr. Shib Shankar Choudhury, Humanities and Social Science, GKCIET.

Rangoli Competition:
The third event, a “Rangoli Competition” on the theme Har Ghar Tiranga, was organized on 07 August 2026 from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM at GKCIET, Malda. As part of the activity, students created colourful and artistic Rangoli designs inspired by the theme Har Ghar Tiranga in front of their respective academic blocks. Students from four departments: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, and Food Technology Engineering, participated enthusiastically in the competition. The activity provided an opportunity for students to express their creativity while reflecting the spirit of patriotism, unity, and respect for the National Flag. The administrative staff of the institute also participated enthusiastically by creating a Rangoli in front of the Chanakya Administrative Block, thereby making the event a collective celebration involving both students and staff members. The activity was supervised by Dr. M. Mohan Jagadeesh Kumar and his team. The colorful Rangoli designs displayed across the campus created a vibrant and festive atmosphere and further strengthened the spirit of participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.

As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2025, a “Painting & Sketching Competition” was organized on 06 August 2026 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Drawing Hall, Third Floor, Block-B, GKCIET, Malda. The competition provided an opportunity for students to express their creativity and patriotic sentiments through art, with the Tiranga serving as the central theme and inspiration. The activity was supervised by Dr. Sudip Kumar Das and Dr. Sanat Kumar Singha, with the active support of student volunteers from the Fine Arts Club, GKCIET. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and helped promote creativity, patriotism, and awareness of the significance of the National Flag among the students.
