๐Ÿ”น The schedule takes into account Ladakhโ€™s harsh winters, difficult terrain and limited accessibility.
๐Ÿ”น Data will cover demographics, education, employment, migration, disability, language and fertility.
๐Ÿ”น Census 2027 is being conducted digitally across India.

On 16 August 2026, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 944 development projects across Rajasthan.

๐Ÿ”น A 21-foot statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also unveiled in Chittorgarh.

๐Ÿ”น Rajasthan now has 772 Eklavya Vidyapeeths for tribal students, according to Shah.
๐Ÿ”น Under Har Ghar Nal Se Jal, household water connections increased from 11 lakh to 64 lakh.

On 11 August 2026, the Supreme Court asked the remaining 19 States and Union Territories to consider declaring cancer a โ€œNotifiable Diseaseโ€ to facilitate early detection, strengthen disease surveillance and ensure better patient care.

๐Ÿ”น Notifiable Disease: Cancer cases would be officially reported to health authorities, improving monitoring and early detection.
๐Ÿ”น Current Status: 17 out of 36 States/UTs have already notified cancer as a notifiable disease.
๐Ÿ”น The direction came during the hearing of a PIL seeking nationwide notification of cancer.
