🌿 Van Mahotsav 2025: A Weeklong Celebration of Green Commitment at Amity University Noida 🌱
In alignment with our long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, the Amity School of Natural Resources and Sustainable Development (ASNRSD), Amity University Noida, organized a vibrant and intellectually engaging celebration of Van Mahotsav 2025. This weeklong event combined awareness, education, and action to promote afforestation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainability within and beyond the campus.
🌱 Highlights of the Event:
📢 Thematic Talk Series on:
• Van Mahotsav: A Symbol of Hope through Collective Awareness and Action for Greening the Environment and Climate Resilience
• Role of Native Species Plantation for Sustainable Livelihoods and Biodiversity Conservation Outside Forest Areas
• Green Smart Cities: Plantation Strategies for Urban Heat Mitigation
These discussions brought critical insights on policy, ecology, and geospatial approaches to forest expansion and urban resilience.
🌳 Distribution of Native Saplings
Hundreds of saplings were distributed to students and faculty, encouraging personal and institutional contributions toward enhancing green cover and fostering a culture of care for native species.
🌿 “Know Your Greens” – Guided Campus Nature Walk
Participants explored the rich botanical diversity of the Amity campus, guided by ecological experts who shared the significance of indigenous species in urban ecological networks.
🧠 Quiz on Forestry & Wildlife Conservation
Students engaged in a dynamic platform to test their knowledge of India’s forestry legacy, conservation strategies, and ecological policy frameworks.
✍️ Essay Writing Competition
Participants reflected on themes including climate adaptation, urban forestry, and citizen-driven greening strategies, offering original perspectives on environmental futures.
🌳 Workshop on “Trees Outside Forests” (TOF)
This session explored the expanding role of TOF in India’s forest strategy, addressing agroforestry practices, institutional landscapes, and spatial policy mechanisms for green space optimization.
