Both online and offline examinations have their own advantages and challenges.
Computer-Based Testing (CBT) offers faster evaluations, better analytics, quicker result processing, and reduced paperwork. It also enables secure question paper generation. Catering to large number of candidates and big question bank requirement remains a challenge.
On the other hand, offline examinations continue to remain important in areas where digital infrastructure or internet accessibility may still be limited and/or large number of candidates are to be assessed.
Regardless of the mode, successful examination management depends on:
✔ Proper planning
✔ Strong operational coordination
✔ Security protocols
✔ Candidate support systems
The real focus should not be choosing one format over another — but building reliable, transparent, and accessible examination systems that suit the needs of institutions and candidates.
