On 17th August 2026, Delhi Public School, Vidyut Nagar, witnessed an insightful orientation session of the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) Club, marked by an engaging poster making competition. The event was conducted in collaboration with BIS Noida Extension, and the esteemed resource person, Mr. Vishvendra, graced the occasion as the keynote speaker.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the felicitation of the guest. Mr. Vishvendra then conducted an interactive orientation session aimed at familiarising students with the concept, history, and relevance of standards in everyday life. He elaborated on the pivotal role played by BIS in ensuring quality, safety, and standardisation across diverse sectors. Through practical, real-life examples, he effectively conveyed the importance of standards.

Following the orientation, the school's Principal Ma'am addressed the gathering. In her address, she emphasised the importance of including more students in the BIS Club and highlighted the significance of the club in building awareness about quality and standards among the youth.

Students then participated enthusiastically in a poster making competition based on themes related to sustainable development and quality standards. The activity served as a platform for students to showcase their creativity, awareness, and understanding of using standardised products such as ISI-marked appliances. The activity concluded with the announcement of results, followed by the distribution of prizes to the winners of the poster competition.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks .The vibrant atmosphere and active participation reflected the success of the initiative. It not only deepened students' understanding of standardisation but also encouraged them to become informed, responsible, and quality-conscious citizens, ready to contribute meaningfully to society.

Young Chefs Showcase Culinary Brilliance at 'Fireless Cooking' Competition

At Delhi Public School, Vidyutnagar, young culinary enthusiasts displayed remarkable creativity, teamwork, and a dedication to a healthy lifestyle at the Grand Finale of the 'Fireless Cooking' Competition held on August 13, 2026.

This exciting competition kicked off on August 7, 2026, with a preliminary round that saw enthusiastic participation from 64 teams. Following a rigorous evaluation based on taste, presentation, and technique, the top 16 teams were shortlisted for the final round.

On August 13, 2026, the final round witnessed intense competition among the top 16 teams. Operating entirely without direct heat or flame, the students prepared exceptionally delicious and nutritious dishes.

Key Highlights of the Event
Nutritious & Creative Dishes: Participants whipped up a variety of recipes using fresh, wholesome ingredients—including layered sandwiches, colorful salads, and elegantly presented canapés.
Artistic Plating & Hygiene: Students demonstrated fine culinary artistry, maintaining a keen focus on food presentation, cleanliness, and innovative flavor combinations.

Expert Judgment & Appreciation
The creations in the final round were evaluated by an experienced panel of judges:

Mrs. Sonia Soni – Accomplished Home Baker
Mrs. Simran Saini – PTA Representative (Pre-Primary Division)

The judges lauded the children's creativity and praised their ability to balance both taste and health seamlessly. During the event, Mrs. Sonia Soni commended the students' plating and presentation skills, while Mrs. Simran Saini appreciated their emphasis on using fresh, wholesome ingredients.

The School Principal, Mrs. Poonam Dua, praised the students' culinary talents and encouraged them to continuously strive toward refining their skills.

The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the top teams for their outstanding performance, innovation, and teamwork. Cheered on by enthusiastic parents, teachers, and peers, this memorable event came to a successful close.
