Writing this QOTD in hopes that the tradition gets started again.

Q: When Disney studios were falling into bad times, the famous producer X made some of their greatest hits such as the The Lion King, The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. When he reportedly asked for promotion, he was fired. He went on to create a company that has gone on to become one of its biggest rivals. I will give the name of the company if the question proves to be difficult.

After Ajax's 2–0 victory over Internazionale in the 1972 European Cup final, newspapers around the world reported the "death of Y." The Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad declared: "The Inter system undermined. Y(in English) is destroyed."

A modern comparison to this match up would probably be Mourinho's Inter versus Van Gaal's Bayern in 2010 with the end result reversed.

Alma Bretteville Spreckels was a mildly famous philantropist and and socialist who lived in San Francisco even being given the nickname of "The Great Grandmother Of San Francisco".

She made her fortune via n**e modeling and also met her first husband, a wealthy owner of the Spreckels Sugar Company, through the business.

An art connoisseur, she gathered historical art, and eventually had a museum constructed for housing the same, with financing from her husband.

She might be obscure, but she has had a hand in the evolution of a phrase, pretty popular in various spheres of life.

X is a East African, Kenyan, Tanzanian, and Ugandan tradition of community self-help events, e.g. fundraising or development activities. X literally means "all pull together" in Swahili, and is also the official motto of Kenya and appears on its coat of arms.

Some conservative Christians in Kenya have opposed the use of the word "X" alleging that it is derived from an expression of praise to a Hindu deity: an incarnation of Durga riding a tiger.

The railway linesmen of Indian origin carrying huge loads of iron rails and sleeper blocks would chant Praise, praise to Y Mother (in Hindi) when working. The first president, Jomo Kenyatta, has been said to have witnessed a railway line team as it worked in cohesion and harmony. It represented the metaphor he wanted to reflect: a nation working together and communicating and sharing its load.

X is also a fictional east African village in Disney's animal kingdom.

During the 1940s, Eastman Kodak received a number of angry complaints from customers regarding film they purchased from Kodak.

The customers claimed that the film had been rendered unusable due to the appearance of black spots on it, or "fogging" as it is called in the industry. This perplexed many Kodak scientists, who had gone to great lengths to prevent contaminations like this.

Kodak did threaten to sue another party for this incident, but only in 1951 when a repeat of this "anomaly" was predicted to happen.

What was the anomaly/reason for the "fogging"?
