Jagaran Public School Celebrates International Yoga Day with Enthusiasm
Noida, 20 June — Jagaran Public School, Sector-47, observed International Yoga Day on Saturday, 20 June with great enthusiasm and joy. The school campus was filled with a serene, yoga-centric atmosphere. The event was conducted under the able leadership of Principal Dr. D. K. Sinha and the guidance of Senior Coordinator Mrs. Sangeeta Bishnoi.
Teachers and students of the school participated eagerly and pledged to adopt a healthier lifestyle through yoga. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and to encourage making yoga a part of daily life.
On this occasion, the school paid special tribute to the long-term and visionary approach of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi towards yoga. Under his leadership, India has secured a respected place for yoga on the global stage; his initiative led to the United Nations designating 21 June as International Yoga Day. Prime Minister Modi often emphasizes that yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a holistic way of life that promotes mental balance, self-discipline, and social wellbeing. According to his vision, yoga will not only make health benefits accessible to the younger generation but also strengthen self-confidence, concentration and moral development — qualities that contribute to nation-building.
The yoga session was conducted by renowned instructors Mr. Vishwajeet and Mr. Pankaj Bhardana. They guided participants through practices including Vajrasana, Tadasana, Surya Namaskar, Chakrasana and Vrikshasana, and explained the health benefits of each. The session also included various pranayama and meditation techniques, helping participants appreciate the importance of mental peace and focus.
The instructors noted that regular yoga practice not only keeps the body healthy and energetic but also helps reduce stress and cultivate positive thinking. All teachers and students performed the exercises with discipline, devotion and enthusiasm, making the program a success.
At the concluding ceremony, Principal Dr. D. K. Sinha described yoga as a priceless heritage of Indian culture and noted that, encouraged by Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, yoga has now become a global movement influencing personal health as well as social harmony and environmental awareness. He urged all present to continue regular yoga programs at the school and to incorporate yoga and meditation into daily routines so that students may develop holistically — physically, intellectually and morally.
The event was highly successful and inspired all participants to adopt regular yoga practice for a healthy and happy life. The school will continue to organize regular yoga sessions, workshops and community activities to promote and practice the principles of yoga at both national and global levels.
