The story of Rapido is a dream. High-school buddies Aravind Sanka and Pavan Guntupalli—who were working with Flipkart and Samsung got together with Rishikesh S.R. The trio decided to get together and start theKarrier as they realised that there was a market gap for intra-city trucks. But due to scaling and credit-availability issues, they had to pivot.
Then came the bike - taxi and auto platform Rapido. Bengaluru’s traffic situation provided the inspiration.
Its unique proposition? Instead of the prevalent commission model that charges close to 30 per cent on each ride from the driver, Rapido banks on a subscription model. This option makes it cheaper for the consumers as well. Riders are charges a nominal subscription fee to stay on Rapido's platform. Once the drivers reach an earning of ₹10,000 from the app, they pay ₹500 as fee. This ensures a lowest price guarantee to the users also.
Customised solutions for specific problems is their plan. Lets wait and watch Rapido.
