Call for Chapters: Mountain Tourism and Ecological Impacts: Himalayan Region and Beyond
The Himalayan region's tourism growth is inextricably linked to a distinct topography, climate, wildlife, and indigenous ethnic population. It encompasses a wide variety of adventure sports and outdoor leisure activities. The Himalayan region has a great deal of potential for mountain tourism to promote local economic development and social change. Increasing livelihoods, reducing poverty, and preserving the environment in mountainous areas are all made possible by sustainable tourism, according to the UNWTO and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO). As a result, mountain tourism in the vast Himalayan region is crucial for maintaining not just human life but also the indigenous population, the flora and fauna, the ecosystem, and the environment of the entire region.
