ഇന്ന് ലോക വന ദിനം
ഭൂമിയുടെ ശ്വാസകോശവും പ്രകൃതിയുടെ ഹൃദയവുമായ കാടുകളുടെ സംരക്ഷണം ഭൂമിയേയും അതിലെ വിഭവങ്ങളെയും കാതുരക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനു ഏറെ സഹായിക്കും .കൃത്രിമമായി വളര്‍ത്തിയ കാടുകള്‍ക്കും പാരിസ്ഥിതിക പ്രാധാന്യം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും സ്വാഭാവിക വനങ്ങള്‍ക്കു അവ ഒരിക്കലും തുല്യമാകില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ കാടുകള്‍ നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നത് അപരിഹാര്യമായ നഷ്ടമാണ് .

ഇന്ന് അങ്ങാടികുരുവി ദിനം ....
ഒരു കാലത്ത് നാട്ടുചന്തകളിലും പലചരക്കുകടകള്ക്ക് മുന്നിലും ധാന്യമണികൾ കൊത്തിപ്പെറുക്കി ചാടി നടക്കുന്ന അങ്ങാടിക്കുരുവികൾ നിത്യകാഴ്ചയായിരുന്നു.. ആധുനികതയുടെ കടന്നുകയറ്റത്തിൽ നാട്ടുചന്തകൾ ശീതീകരിച്ച ഷോപ്പിംഗ്‌ മാളുകൾക്ക് വഴിമാറിക്കൊടുത്തപ്പോൾ അങ്ങാടികുരുവികളുടെ നിലനില്പ്പും ഭീഷണിയിലായി.. ഇന്ന് അങ്ങടിക്കുരുവികളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഒട്ടനവധി പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടന്നുവരുന്നു. അത്തരം പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്ക് ഊര്ജം പകരുന്നതാവട്ടെ ഈ ദിനം...
